There are 3766 comments on the Religion Dispatched story from Apr 9, 2013, titled Atheist Islamophobia... Again. In it, Religion Dispatched reports that:

Sparked by a Richard Dawkins tweet , in which he drew a parallel between Islamists and Nazis, Nathan Lean recently suggested on Salon.com that the most famous representatives of the new atheism "flirt with" Islamophobia [echoing Chris Stedman's prescient warning to fellow atheists on RD this past August]. As the article explains, Dawkins, Hitchens ... (more)

<quoted text>yes, all dictators know the power of religious cult fervor.
the moral way to rid the world of these bloody,(not in the british way...) cults is through education and reason. then we will become like the countries that are the least religious and have the best educated kids, the happiest, healthiest people, and the highest standard of living.
There are plenty of studies that show religious people are happier then the non Religious.
And as far as health goes. I live in a very Religious town (LOma Linda California) And we tend to outlive everybody.

The real victim of religion is reason.
Religion = superstition
Think e Catholic Church gave the Polish Communist party a little trouble, enough that they tried to off the Pope.

yeah, the poverty might have something to do with that, huh?

try comparing apples to apples.

how bout you look at countries ruled by religion, wouldn't that be the best if religion is so grand? how do those countries look?

how has that worked in the past?

the further we get from religious cults, the better off humanity will be.

Ok lets then look at developed countries only . Among the least Religious developed countries are France, Japan and South Korea, which do NOT make the list of happiest places on Earth. The USA and Ireland which are the most Religious developed countries do..
As I said get rid of the Nordic countries and there seems to be no relationship between a country being happy or unhappy.
Perhaps being surrounded by Hot blondes has more to do with it then anything else.
France should be a happier place then Ireland if your premise was true.

Atheist happiness index is funny, a vast generalization with no support.
Christian are a most happy people.
Normal atheists, not the evangelical pushy ones, seem happy.
President Obama sets a good example for our nation with his prayers for Boston and Prayer Breakfasts.

<quoted text>
The Soviet Union was the first atheist state to have, as an ideological objective, the elimination of religion and its replacement with universal atheism. The communist regime confiscated religious property, ridiculed religion, harassed believers, and propagated atheism in schools. The confiscation of religious assets was often based on accusations of illegal accumulation of wealth.
The vast majority of people in the Russian empire were, at the time of the revolution, religious believers, whereas the communists aimed to break the power of all religious institutions and eventually replace religious belief with atheism.
Thanks for the random words that had no bearing on my question. Let's try again:

Did the dictators you named kill in the name of atheism or were they Communists who killed in the name of Communism?

Lincoln only has lies to back up his cult.
Doctors without borders-- deliberately secular.

Sure, some participants are Theists-- but the organization is deliberately secular in it's approach-- so that there can be no religious proselytizing in exchange for the medical help.

The medical care is intended to be free--without obligation to the recipients.

In contrast to 99% of the "missionary" work done by religions.

<quoted text> Life under the Kmer Rouge and Religion
All religion was banned by the Khmer Rouge. Any people seen taking part in religious rituals or services would be executed. Several Buddhists, Muslims, and Christians were killed for exercising their beliefs

Might point out most of the vast majority of the executioners where teenagers , separated by their parents and indoctrinated by the Kmer Rouge, not religious people
Kmer Rouge WAS a religion-- it acted >>exactly<< like all religions do-- it murdered any competition.

So you lose your argument.

Good point!

Like in West Virginia all residents share the same DNA because there is only mountains!!!(joke!!!)

But seriously, when you can not see women, when it is illegal to see non-relative women then you have no other choice than to marry the "first cousin" you come across!
