Atheist Islamophobia... Again

There are 3766 comments on the Religion Dispatched story from Apr 9, 2013, titled Atheist Islamophobia... Again. In it, Religion Dispatched reports that:

Sparked by a Richard Dawkins tweet , in which he drew a parallel between Islamists and Nazis, Nathan Lean recently suggested on Salon.com that the most famous representatives of the new atheism "flirt with" Islamophobia [echoing Chris Stedman's prescient warning to fellow atheists on RD this past August]. As the article explains, Dawkins, Hitchens ... (more)

yes. look at the countries that are the least religious. they have the happiest, healthiest people, the best educated kids and the highest standard of living...

religious cults hold nations and societies back from their full potential.

You made this up :-)
but is a funny generalization regarding
a planet with 7 billion people.

no, it is right there for all the world to know. look up the countries that are least religious and cross reference that with the metrics i listed.

learning is fun!

now you did make up that adage and i proved it wrong. why do you have to keep lying about it? why do you have to lie about your faith? is it that weak? why is it that weak? based on lies maybe?

proven lies? yes, it is.

Scratch an atheist and out pops an agnostic" is an old adage.

yes? who said it first?

there are no atheists in foxholes is an old adage, but it is entirely incorrect.

i proved your adage incorrect, why do you keep repeating it if you know it is wrong? you seem to have the cult mentality of denying the truth in front of you.

<quoted text>Ah, you're comparing God to Adolf Hitler- that will get you far in today's society. Never heard of "free will"?
Let's see, one was a maniacal dictator who killed out of ignorantly driven anger and commanded his people to take over the world, and the other is suppose to be an all-powerful maniacal dictator who killed out of ignorantly driven anger and commanded his people to take over the world. Very little difference.

"Free-will" is a cop-out, it's not an answer, it's nothing more than an evasion, and excuse.

So Allah is a false god?

Yes or not?

Why?

Liberals love to deny God but defend Muslims, so I love when I ask them if Allah is a false god and see then going in a tail spin!!!

Most atheists abhor Fox News, calling it Faux News instead. your post relies heavily on an appeal to authority, one of the classic fallacies. That the Tamil Tigers also used suicide bombings as a tactic does not mean that their motivations can be compared to those of Islamic terrorists. Your post is laced with logical fallacies from beginning to end.
FIRST of all, that's not my words. They are the words of the worlds leading expert on suicide bombers.
Second, If you watch the documentary I posted, you'll learn how the act of "suicide bombing" came into Islam. Also, the expert in the video is not a Muslim. So he has no reason to be bias.

Bob, this is the same sort of "logic" that theist trolls use to connect modern western atheists to the deaths and atrocities committed by communist leaders. That Islam inspires some of its believers to commit terrorist acts justifies finding fault with the
Q'uran, but not with all of its adherents. Guilt by association is an obvious fallacy.
I cannot agree-- the reason is this.

The bible is not based on anything concrete-- it's all mumbo-jumbo.

As such, if they really wanted to, they could easily CHANGE it to match what they preach.

They do not.

Thus? They worship it as a god or something.

And that? Their refusal to change the bible?

Is why they are guilty of any and all evil that it inspires.

It would be different, if each group had it's own version of the bible, one that actually SAID what they SAY it says...

probably more religious bias. that is usually the case on that issue.
Well, the record shows that man/woman marriage is not very successful: the rate of failure is slightly higher than 50%.

That is pretty much fail right there.

We are not >>supposed<< to do that-- alas, all too often, religious bigots do manage to get their bigotry into law...

... but we are working on it.

Yep: Switzerland, Sweden, in fact most of the Netherlands...

... and Great Briton is rapidly becoming an atheist country too.

Then there is Canada, who's religiosity is shrinking at a high rate.

One of the common threads of the ones I mentioned? Is basic health care is free for anyone.

I wonder if that is a link?

In that in countries WITHOUT basic health care, you also see STRONG religious influence.

Hmmmmm....

Yes your allah is 100% false-- as in not real, does not exist, is just made up, etc.

And yes, politically-speaking I am more or less liberal.

But I'm hardly in a tailspin, am I?

I am happy to point out the fatal flaws in the ugly that is islam.

For starters? It's #1 prophet is an illiterate child-raper.

You know: that moohumud dude that gets islamists all riled up if we post an image of him.

Here: an age-appropriate image of moohumud:.

It's the little dot at the end of the sentence-- a very good likeness.

Except that the dot is real, and moohumud is not.
