Atheist Islamophobia... Again

Apr 9, 2013 Full story: Religion Dispatched 3,766

Sparked by a Richard Dawkins tweet , in which he drew a parallel between Islamists and Nazis, Nathan Lean recently suggested on Salon.com that the most famous representatives of the new atheism "flirt with" Islamophobia [echoing Chris Stedman's prescient warning to fellow atheists on RD this past August]. As the article explains, Dawkins, Hitchens ... (more)

BTW thought the President's attendance at the prayer meeting in Boston was excellent.
We enjoy unity in the US and welcome Islamic citizens
Thank you. There is no country like America. Our diverse makes us stronger unlike other countries.
Also, the president's speech was the most moving of all the ones that were giving. I really think this was one of the best speeches he gave. It was very touching.

Lol, nice humor. contrary to popular believe, suicide is actually forbidden in Islam.
Really? Care to explain why so many Islamic "heroes" do in fact kill themselves along with many innocent bystanders, then?

Your ugly book promises them 72 virgins or something...

... WTF?

Why would this put them on edge? This explains an old age misconception about Islam. Atheist say they are more than happy to learn about the truth. So this should make sense to them.
You are equally guilty for all crimes committed by the extreme Islamist terrorist.

Why?

Because you both worship the same evil quoran.

That is why.

The same book that compels the suicide bombers to murder the innocent.

The fact is? You posted a perma-link, but NOT to woodtick.
You then claimed that post-- that single post-- supported your statement.
It did not.
Therefore? You lied.

Read the atheist posts carefully and you may notice a pattern of... lets just say some people have difficulty living in this world.

President Obama is a Christian and so is Vice President Biden.
Keep posting and notice "the Pope" posts a great many posts, some of which have been examined for meaning.

He's just a troll, and nothing but a troll.

He will say anything-- anything at all-- to get a wee shred of the attention he so desperately craves.

It is pitiful to witness, actually.

But one thing is clear-- he's a True Believer™. He let that slip the first time he posted his ugly. And several times since..

Right. Forbidden but rewarded by 72 virgins. Nice, I suppose, if you like virgins. I prefer a woman with a bit of experience, but to each his own, I guess. I have looked at history. History says the vast majority of people blowing themselves up in an attempt to kill others are members of the Mohammed Fan Club.
Not according to Professor Robert Pape of the University of Chicago, whose book on suicide terrorism, Dying to Win,"man who knows more about suicide terrorists than any other American."
Here is what he did.
Pape has found that the most common American perceptions about who the terrorists are and what motivates them are off by a wide margin. In his office is the world’s largest database of information about suicide terrorists, rows and rows of manila folders containing articles and biographical snippets in dozens of languages compiled by Pape and teams of graduate students, a trove of data that has been sorted and analyzed.

This is what He said.

"This wealth of information creates a new picture about what is motivating suicide terrorism. Islamic fundamentalism is not as closely associated with suicide terrorism as many people think. The world leader in suicide terrorism is a group that you may not be familiar with: the Tamil Tigers in Sri Lanka."

Maybe you atheist aren't champions of facts like you claim since you take everything FOX NEWS tells you to be true.

Most Americans are also Christian and America is referred to as a "Christian Nation" by many people around the world. So why would they be mad that we have a Christian president, do they expect something else?

Atheism isn't a religion, so your analogy fails yet again.

When you get enough courage to prove your god, and discover what honesty is, please come back.

Bob, this is the same sort of "logic" that theist trolls use to connect modern western atheists to the deaths and atrocities committed by communist leaders. That Islam inspires some of its believers to commit terrorist acts justifies finding fault with the
Q'uran, but not with all of its adherents. Guilt by association is an obvious fallacy.

True. She said that the Q'uran was the word of her god, proving its existence, and had no response when the circularity of that argument was pointed out. But that circularity came from self-deception, not a deliberate effort to deceive others. Since lying is a conscious and deliberate act, that isn't what she was doing. People aren't always when they say something that is not true. Sometimes they are simply deluded.

Most atheists abhor Fox News, calling it Faux News instead. your post relies heavily on an appeal to authority, one of the classic fallacies. That the Tamil Tigers also used suicide bombings as a tactic does not mean that their motivations can be compared to those of Islamic terrorists. Your post is laced with logical fallacies from beginning to end.
