Sparked by a Richard Dawkins tweet , in which he drew a parallel between Islamists and Nazis, Nathan Lean recently suggested on Salon.com that the most famous representatives of the new atheism "flirt with" Islamophobia [echoing Chris Stedman's prescient warning to fellow atheists on RD this past August]. As the article explains, Dawkins, Hitchens ... (more)

You called me a liar just because I believe in God. Calling me a liar or anyone else is not a good way to get your point a crossed. You could've simply said what evidence do you have to back this up. Try respect, it does tons for me.
when did i ever call you a liar? please provide that post.

now you saying that about me would be a lie, wouldn't it?

I did exactly that. I provided proof of the lies and falsehoods that the abrahamic god and religion are based on and asked if you have anything to counter that.

Even if you have all the prove in the world, yelling at someone and insulting them is not going to change their mind. It's going to make them want to hold on to what they believe to be true even more. And if you want to get your message a crossed and really understand the other person, It is through discussion. This will help you get inside the persons mind and answer all the questions they have. It shows that you respect them as an individual. Also, allows you not to leave any stone untouched. Do you actually think that yelling at someone and insulting them is affective? Also, do you think trying to force someone to have the same mind set as you is going to work?

Likewise, rioting and trying to kill someone for drawing a picture of Mohammed is likely to be a bit off-putting, to say nothing of flying airliners into tall buildings or blowing yourself up in places where large numbers of other people have gathered. The followers of your "religion of peace" tend to do these things on a regular enough basis to cause sane people to find your behavior concerning.
And when have I done any of this? I have never rioted for any reason. I have never killed anyone. I have never flew airplanes into buildings. I have never blew myself up in a gathering. So why do you assume that this is what Islam teaches and this is what every Muslim wants to or does do? Don't generalize a group of people or religion based on a few bad apples.

It wasn't 19 atheists in the planes on 9/11. No atheists put a bounty on the cartoonist who drew Mohammed. Or rioted in the street when the cartoons appeared. The riots were quite large, involving vast numbers of people, as did the riots (muslim) terrorists used as a cover for terror in Benghazi.

Suicide bombings are a near daily occurrence throughout the muslim world, especially Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan, although also not particularly rare in Syria or the occupied territories. We know you have not committed a suicide bombing (or at least not yet), by virtue of the fact that you are posting here.(Duh!!!!)

That's way more than a "few bad apples". That's bushels and bushels of bad apples. Vast orchards of them. All thinking their actions are virtuous because their religion teaches them so. Just as it teaches them to stone people to death, to kill gays, to main thieves, to commit honor killings. Add in all those religiously inspired brutes and one is left with the firm conclusion that there's nothing peaceful about islam and that it is more a case of a few good apples being mixed into orchards of bad ones than vice versa.

sorry, dear, that is not proof. if that were true, then every god ever written about exists.

do you believe every god ever written about exists, or were you lying about that 'proof'?

yes, it has been that long that rational people have realized that it is not proof.
