Atheist Islamophobia... Again

There are 3766 comments on the Religion Dispatched story from Apr 9, 2013, titled Atheist Islamophobia... Again. In it, Religion Dispatched reports that:

Sparked by a Richard Dawkins tweet , in which he drew a parallel between Islamists and Nazis, Nathan Lean recently suggested on Salon.com that the most famous representatives of the new atheism "flirt with" Islamophobia [echoing Chris Stedman's prescient warning to fellow atheists on RD this past August]. As the article explains, Dawkins, Hitchens ... (more)

Anyways, the only reason I tell Christians that is because they don't want to discuss religion but tell me Islam is wrong and Jesus is the only, if I don't want to go to hell. So I simply tell them why I don't believe in Christianity. They don't want to discuss, just sell Christianity. so by say no, we both save time.
Habibi,
There is no heaven or hell, there is no guy in the sky that knows all, see's all, hears all, and loves you for banging your head on the ground five times a day and not eating pork. Try to wrap your head around that fact. When you die you are either going into the cold damp ground or up in smoke, that is the.......... end..........there ain't no more, no second chance. Try to enjoy each and every day that you can because life is very, very short. Don't waste it on bullshit!

It isn't paranoia if they really ARE out to get you, you know.
Looking around the world? I see example after example where atheists are being murdered, harassed, threatened, beaten, robbed, stabbed and worse--
--- by you True Believers™.
So it's not paranoia--- it's common sense.
History has taught us non-believers that lesson all too well.
In any case? I would bet you a new $20, that you DO hate me and everyone like me.
Your hate kinda seeps past your rhetoric, revealing your inner character for the ugly that it is...
Ah, got it- you WANT people to hate you. You bring it up whenever possible so it must be how you are. They call that a Persecution Complex- revel in it some more...

I agree with. That is why it is important to find inner peace. when you do, then every minute of every day isn't wasted. I don't know what it is for you but praying five times a day gives me that inner peace.

His hatred for non-believers kind of peeks around the edges of his seemingly mild posts.
More to the point, I'm beginning to recognize his style.
Paranoid much? Answer: "constantly".

I think it's time to flip the "ignore" switch on this one, too.

See what happens-- how desperate it becomes, if ignored.

If only their god was all seeing, it wouldn't matter where they prayed because he'd be able to see them anyway.

What an abusrd waste of time and effort.

Why woudl you think God needs you to pray all the time. 5 times a day?

It makes Allah out to be very needy, always wanting attention.

An all knowing entity would know what you want, and know what is best for you. Prayer would not be required. Sorry to break this to you.

In this case, it isn't cherry picking. Both the old and new testaments are laced through with misogyny, reflecting the culture of the people who produced the bible. Misogynist males dominated the culture, and the god they made in their image was, almost necessarily, similarly misogynist. From Genesis and the story of the creation, with the female created after the man for the purpose of filling a need of the man,and the fall, where the story blames all the woes of the world on the woman, to the end of the new testament, where Paul tells women to be quiet and subservient, the bible might as well have been written by Spanky, Alfalfa and the rest of the He-Man Women Haters Club. The product would have been no less juvenile, but perhaps less unintentionally funny.

Same as the nuns and monks. they have lauds, matins, prime, sext, nones, terce, vespers, and compline.

they have the same call to prayer at specific times, but then, it is the same god they worship, there ar many similarities for this reason.

Question?

When you read the English translation of the Old Test. do you accept this word for word?

"Misogyny" is very politically correct.:-)
In America men seem guilty of all the sins of the Republic.
