Anti-Feminist Atheists Inevitably Choosing Sexism Over Commitment to Rationality

Nov 27, 2012 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: The Raw Story

I've blogged here in the past about the dogged and weird pro-harassment* cult that erupted in the atheist/skeptic movement, one that is very small but, being composed by a lot of unstable people have nothing better to do than harass others, can nonetheless make a pain of themselves.** By and large, their main obsession is screaming incoherently ... If you believe there is an invisible giant man of a particular ethnicity in the sky who is directing everything and who is so hateful he will viciously punish us for challenging his existence--
If you believe that this invisible giant man got a 13-year-old virgin girl pregnant, who then gave birth to him as his own son--
If you believe that this god person wrote a book--and one book only--
If you believe that "confessing the Lord" will instantly remove your sins, thus allowing you to commit more--
If you believe that a stone will remove your sins, thus allowing you to commit more--
If you believe in vicarious blood-atonement, i.e., that "the Lord died for your sins" and thus you can commit as many as you wish--
If you believe that merely believing in such a god person makes you righteous, no matter what atrocities you commit and what hatred and intolerance you carry and spread--
If you believe that some "good" god person is going to reward you for killing living, breathing human beings "in his name"--
If you believe that going to church, temple, synagogue or mosque, making pilgrimages, or wearing particular clothes or headdresses, makes you a righteous person, even though you don't behave like one otherwise--
If you believe that you are special and chosen because of what you believe--
If you believe that it is good to mindlessly go along with whatever anyone tells you about the nature of God and religion--
If you believe that believing in one God makes you better than and superior to those who don't--

Immoral Creationist liar trying to sell morals. I have one name and one name only Skeptic.

I'm sorry it feels like my opinions are falling all over you from all sides. I guess that's what happens when you claims that the earth is 6000 years old and expect intelligent people to let you just keep on talking.

The video is made by 'TheAmazingAtheist'. He makes a good point about the double standards of feminism. Your posts are off topic and irrelevent. Not to mention the fact that they contain inaccuracies. Again, as I explained on a different thread, the Native American had different beliefs for each tribe. Some meshed well with the 'Christian' standard while others did not. The point is that it has nothing to do with sexism, feminism or anything that is pertaining to the topic at hand.
Oh, that's the video you linked. TJ is pretty smart, his vocals annoy me, but meh, people seem to like it.

Also yes, he is correct in this matter, an excellent opinion/role-model on the matter. He got a ton of hate-vids for making that point too.

To the others, here's a bit of a reality check:

Sexism is not cat-calls, or "hey gorgeous" compliments yelled, it's the "women are weak" nonsense spouted, or the negative responses to rejection. Do not confuse sexism with sexual attraction, the two are very different, and sexual attraction is perfectly acceptable, sadly they are both instinctual behaviors but as humans we are above instincts. There are plenty of locals where I live who compliment my legs, or other body parts, all the time, it doesn't bother me because they also know, and accept, that there is no chance they will ever see more. They are not sexist, they are paying compliments using their own unique vernacular, which is fine because it harms no one. It's when the tourists scream "dyke" just because I say I'm not interested that it becomes sexist.

"anti-feminists" inevitably choose sexism. Sounds like a tautology to me. That there exists a small number of men who treat women as only sexual objects is as unsurprising an observation as the observation that the sun rises in the east. It has been noted that men possess both a brain and a penis, but only enough of a blood supply to operate one or the other at any given point in time. That a group as large and diverse as atheists would include at least some men who hold this opinion is likewise unremarkable given the overwhelming amount of media messages promoting that very idea.

In any event, compared to the adherents of the desert religions, all of whom consider the inferiority of women to be a part of their actual doctrine, it is likely that atheism holds fewer such me.

Why resort to ad hom at all? It's a logical fallacy that invariably leads discussions away from substance.

You have an idiot following you around for about year trying to debunk everything that you post by calling you a creationist and see what happens.

Interesting attempt here. It appears to be more projection than anything.

I was recently homeless, for a total of almost a decade, actually. Lived in a shelter for women most of that time, actually. Had to deal with learning to handle financial problems. It was an interesting experience actually.

Who is selling morals other than Sam Harris?
All I have ever said was that morals are subjective. They differ from person to person and culture to culture.

You disagree with Sam Harris because your a creationist who doesn't understand morals or logic. You can't expect us to all assume your an agnostic atheist, when you've behaved exactly like a creationist i this forum.

Whenever the topic gets too heated in favour of atheism, you deliberately derail it.

We're not stupid you know. Just do yourself a favour and come back like a coward when the coast is clear,- like you always do.

Give credit where due. Lil said that morals are subjective, which is in opposition of most christians, but it's logical and correct. Sam is a great speaker, but everyone will say something stupid at some time in their lives, that's inevitable. Or they will have some really off idea that's illogical, Newton believed in Alchemy. Our more well known public figure and comedian, Bill Maher, is an anti-vaxxer. We can't all be logical all the time. I don't know Lil's specific gripe about Sam, but meh.

Harris believe that moral decisions can be made objectively and that everyone should follow those objective decisions. I personally do not like being told what to do let alone think.
