Is he going to quit selling his daughters and stop stoning sinners* to death?

Unless he has been observing and obeying all biblical laws, he already is and has been living as if there were no god.

* people who wear mixed fabrics or work on the Sabbbath, pick up firewood, etc.

They all do that, don't they?

They are, each and every one of them [christians], hypocrites.

This is because it's impossible to live by the bible-- you **must** ignore parts of it, as other parts contradict those.

Thus? You **must** be a hypocrite, if you attempt to follow the bible.

And, naturally, the bible thoroughly condemns hypocrites ...

If you actually look at the buybull's content, there is almost none of it being followed by modern Christains. I think it would be harder to find some bit that they all lived by than it would be to find proof of a god. And even they know that is impossible.

Well the issue with using the bible as a crutch is that it's a writing that is massively utilized to interpretation. Everyone reads it and gets their own opinion. That is exactly why it should NEVER be used to prove anything. It's a fiction writing.

What? How could you doubt that Jesus is the son of God who walked on water, arose from the dead and was born of a virgin?? What's the matter with people in the 21st Century!
:-)
Religion = superstition

Well you can also read that Jesus IS god, not the son of god.

Very confusing peace of literature. Shakespeare was easier to understand.

I would say that 100% of it is ignored by **all** modern christians.

They have rewritten it to match what they intended to do anyway-- they just don't formalize it with actual printed material.

If you don't believe me? Ask any random sampling-- they will be only too glad to TELL you what their unwritten "bible" **really** means and says.

Of course...

... they pretty much don't follow **that** one, either.

Hypocrites, the entire lot; without a single exception.

What else? It's an interpretation of a translation of a translated-interpretation of old verbal-only sayings, tales and folk legends.

Such gobbledegook is bound to be so nebulous and non-specific, that you could make it say anything you like.

... anything at **all**.

Hitler used it. Fred Phelps did too. So did Timothy McVeigh. The modern Republican TeaBaggers also use the bible to "justify" their bigotry, greed and avarice. As do many of the Democrat-conservatives.

In fact? Scratch pretty much **any** modern "leader" who is selling oppression of one or more segments of the population? You will find underneath, they are using the bible to "justify" their pogroms and prejudice.

Unless, naturally, they are islamic... or mormon. Fortunately, there are few of the latter to worry about, and the few that there are? Are idiots...(I'm looking at you, Romney. There's a special entry in the dictionary under "stupid", just for you, Romney.)

Unfortunately, there are far too many of the islamic variety, who use the equally failed quoran to "justify" their atrocities.

I agree-- what's more? Shakespeare was a real person... in contrast to the fictional "authors" of the equally fictional bible.

The bible says that no one should be judged for the sins of their fathers, and yet the bible says that we need to accept Jesus because of what Adam and Eve did.

Yep.

The bible is about as consistent as a politician's campaign promises...

... only the bible is not nearly as "believable"...
