That raises a couple questions:

How can they have 2 infallible popes at the same time, especially if they disagree on a subject?

Does being tired and wore out mean you are not all that infallable after all?

I'm sure there's some of that, too.

You'd think that the Ultimate Spokes-weenie for God?(according to the Genuine Catholic Church™ of course)

You'd think that such a person would be more...

... more something.

This current quitter-pope certainly does not measure up, does he?

I thought of that myself.

My prediction?

The current pope will "die" of "natural causes", likely from an overdose of something or other for his "health".

This would be in keeping with a long, long tradition of moving popes along to make room for the next one.

Especially if the current one has become...

... rather an embarrassment.

I suspect his sudden announcement to quit came when he realized he was about to "die of natural causes" and he hoped to forestall such a "blessed" event.

Not that it will help him in the end...

... do I feel the slightest bit sorry for him?

Not a chance: he is an unmitigated <expletive> who wrote the Genuine Catholic™ manual on how to coverup pedophile-priests.

He cannot get enough punishment.

Your quick defense of the ugliness that is the Genuine Catholic™ church is quite revealing.

I've not been following this as I don't care who's Pope.
From:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/shared/spl/hi/world/p...
John Paul II asks the person elected not to refuse the papacy, but to submit humbly to divine will: "God who imposes the burden will sustain him with his hand, so that he will be able to bear it.."
Unquote.
I suppose they're all that crazy?

And they will still have a Chief Exorcist?...
http://ihubbub.com/vatican-chief-exorcist-war...
Surely people see through this nonsense? Most RCs I know are fairly reasonable people and often intelligent. For many, there must be some attraction to the tribal nature of religionism. Support for Roman Catholicism (and for Islam or any other sect) is divisive and revolting sectarianism, in my view.

Religion = superstition

Hi there BOQF! I still find it interesting that Ratz got all his cardinals in place and loose ends tied and sealed right after the butler got into his secret documents and info
from his diary. I think his resignation due to health is used to deflect from the usual Vatican dirty laundry.

But all such speculation can sound like love for conspiricy theory. There are surely enough proven scandals in the RC Church to remove any need for idle speculation.
