Judged: 1 1 Is anyone really surprised at this? LOL! The truth will always come out, eventually. Too funny, really-- maybe this represents their final melt-down ... ... first "mother" teresa is shown to be a complete fraud, and now Ratzy is shown to have permitted gay sex scandals, while on the outside, railing even louder against the gays. |

In religion as in politics it seems that the ones who scream and rail the loudest turnout to be precisely what they speak against, i.e., being gay. Would that not come as a shock to the flock if Ratzy confessed to, or was found out to being gay! |

Judged: 1 1 1 Priests to marry?- I agree, actually if you are a priest or reverend in another church and convert to catholicism and happen to be married you are allowed to stay married while practicing as a priest. As for poofs?- No. I dont know any religions that allows poofs to wed, nor any Holy book condoning it. |

Judged: 1 Indeed, you are likely correct. I notice that one of the favorite "insults" from True Believers™ to non-believers is to claim they non-believer is gay. As if that was some sort of insult. Be that as it may, the frequency with which they use that? Likely indicates that the True Believer™ is also a repressed homosexual. Sad, really. They cannot possibly be happy with all that religious suppression going on. What a miserable life, to be a True Believer™ |

Judged: 1 I think in most cases the church is how many had planned to rid themselves of thoughts and feelings that conflict with what they have been taught is the "right" way for a straight man to think and feel. That the gay can be prayed away is incentive to stay with the indoctrination, they would have long ago walked away from had they not possessed those feelings of attraction for their own sex. While being a Jebus freak fails to take away those thoughts, it does allow them to be converted to what they can safely wish to perpetrate on others, without having to see themselves as gay. So the gay man, prays to be no longer gay, and even when he is no longer "gay", in his mind he only uses gay sex as punishment for those he disapproves of. We atheist, and especially the male atheist, is a constant target for those thought punishments, from the xian. It's very much like the Muslim men who would rape another men, and nt consider them to be either sexual nor gay acts, but rather only inflicted hurt, a punishment. Funny thing, when they reveal that their thoughts run in that direction, it's like putting a neon sign above their heads, that claims them to be both repressed and gay. |

My husband and I are hanging in there. We each have our problems - but we're rather philosophical about them. Take care - you've always been one of my favorites!! |

Everyone on the planet has problems of one sort or another-- at least yours are ones you appear well able to cope with. That's worth a lot, isn't it? <smile> I wish you and your family all the best. |

Bob, thanks so much. What keeps us at peace is knowing that there are much worse things some people are coping with. Thank you for your kind words, dear friend! |

I am married to a catholic and we have never been in one argument over religion or god in any way shape or form. We have bigger fish to fry and really never even discuss religion.

You are most welcome. And you are quite correct: imagine being a poor sot, who cannot shake the evil influence of religion, but is also gay or bisexual, and has self-loathing to the point of suicide... ... indeed, there are worse issues one may have. Being intelligent (as you obviously are) is a blessing, in my book. For an intelligent person can overcome the random situation of one's birth.(as you obviously have). :) |

You are a more gracious human being that I, and I am a bit envious of you, for that. :D I'm afraid I'm a bit too shallow to have remained married to someone who keeps religious faith. At least I recognize my own limitations.:) |

Well she is really hot :)
She never mentions religion really at all. Religion and belief never comes up one way or the other.
