In the U.S., atheists have laws protecting us. But laws aren't always obeyed, or enforced - and fighting for legal rights can have dire consequences.

Atheists are experiencing real, law-breaking discrimination. The fact that itís illegal does not always stop it from happening. It is reasonable for us to speak out about it. And it is reasonable for us to expect people to give a damn. It is reasonable to expect our friends, our families, our colleagues, our communities, our country, to pay attention ó and to do something about it.
