The Atheist God

Oct 7, 2013 Full story: Daily Kos 152

An odd title I know, but maybe not as odd as one might think. I am an Atheist in the purest sense, but I am still in some ways forced to contemplate God, though it may not be my own.

You would think the alien abductions would have pictures, factual evidence, that sort of thing. But no, there is not enough evidence to prove such things exist. Also, the fact is that many people believe things that are false-even when the evidence suggests otherwise.
Humans love to be in denial of things, especially death. Hence why many religions are obsessed with finding a way out of it.
It is fine to delude yourself, but others - and children - its a criminal. The problems is that cult followers take no responsibility for themselves or society, by lying to one another.

Lying, sad to say, is the sort of thing people have been brought up to believe in. People have been taught that it's okay to brainwash children to forsake this life because there's an imaginary paradise waiting for them, they can murder others who aren't like them because this invisible deity told them to, and it's just not right.

It's messed up is what it is.

It is seriously messed up-- and they keep passing on their mental affliction (god) to the next generation, like some sort of inherited disease.

The worst part is many people like us are probably too scared of coming out IRL. I've lost friends because of my atheism/agnosticism in the past and it's irritating to deal with pesky religious folks trying to shove their bushwah down my throat when I spell it out plain and clear-I don't want any part of their cult, but they just won't listen.

Christians think they have it hard, well, try being in an atheist's shoes. It's ten thousand times harder to coexist in a society that feels everyone should believe in a two-thousand year old fairy tale when you don't believe in it in the first place.

God is not an atheist but she (Messiah) will serve and worship a God that is presently unknown to us. Daniel 11:36-39 "...Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers...nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all. But in his estate shall he honor the God of forces...Thus shall he do in the most strong holds with a strange god..." The God of forces is Energy and the forces in nature which are eternal. Gravitation, Electromagnetism, and the nuclear forces. These are the omnipotent powers in the universe.

You're mentally ill for talking about god, without proving it.

Have you ever heard of the law of gravity or the theory of relativity? How ignorant are you? Everything is composed of matter and/or energy. You can't see the forest through the trees.

I think this is the third board you've spammed with this nonsense, but I'm probably underestimating the number.

In any case, this faith-based gibberish isn't working any better than it was the first two times I read it. But it is just as annoying.

After reading just three or four of your meaningless posts, it is clear to me that the really ignorant one is YOU.

But hey, even ignorant people need a hobby. I guess yours is trying to "witness" to people who don't buy your mythology. Have fun with that.

Indeed.

It's even worse, when these Genuine Christians™ are literally slobbering at the very idea of someone else being tortured or hurt.

Disgusting.

In the eyes of God, it's wrong to wish a curse on someone or to rejoice in their calamity. The third and final judgment will be on the remnant of the Christians who in the end are still joined to their idols. As Pharaoh got the judgment he pronounced on Israel, so it will be with the Christians. They will burst into flames. Zechariah 14:12.

And yet? You do this with nearly every one of your posts.

Hypocrite, much?

How on Earth did you get that from this:

36 “The king will do as he pleases. He will exalt and magnify himself above every god and will say unheard-of things against the God of gods. He will be successful until the time of wrath is completed, for what has been determined must take place. 37 He will show no regard for the gods of his ancestors or for the one desired by women, nor will he regard any god, but will exalt himself above them all. 38 Instead of them, he will honor a god of fortresses; a god unknown to his ancestors he will honor with gold and silver, with precious stones and costly gifts.

I prefer the OKJV. It's very clear and plain. The other English versions are Christian interpretations.

Of course you do! The simpler the better-- and that would **still** be too complicated for ...

... you.

Sad.

Ever been to " http://www.biblegateway.com/" ;? They have quite a list of searchable 'versions' of the Bible online. The OKJV doesn't seem to be listed there. I presume it's the 'Old King James Version' or something? Does it bother you that GOD'S UNWAVERING WORD has so many different versions and interpretations? Why would something that's "clear and plain" need so many versions? Here, lets try this quote from an Atheist ancient text:

"Mankind shall not know peace until the last King is strangled in the entrails of the last priest." <Denis Diderot>

How do you interpret that? No need for interpretation really, it's meaning is crystal clear.'Truth' is like that. Kind of refreshing isn't it? Sort of like stepping out of a carnival Fun House and into a philharmonic orchestra playing a beautiful symphony.

There are thousands of versions of Christianity because none of them can agree. A lot of times, their leader will write and publish a new version of the bible that fits their perverted doctrine. The NT can mean whatever you want it to. There is no consensus by all Christians on any dogma. I have found the old King James very reliable, sensible, consistent, and accurate. Christians have also tried to pervert that version with the new King James. I only believe in the OT.

Well ... it's good that there are some limits, at least, to what you are willing to believe. I've spent many a Sunday morning at table with aging Christians meticulously and painful slow picking apart KJV Bible verses, trying to make some sense of it all. Thank God for coffee and donuts! What would have really livened things up would have been some pscilocybin mushrooms, tempered with a few hash brownies!! Now THAT would be some kind of Bible study!!!

The Messiah is going to legalize most drugs but I'm not sure about LSD or shrooms. It they are included, there will probably be more laws about their use. I haven't tripped in a very long time, I'm mental now and I don't know how it would affect me.
