An Atheist, an Agnostic, a Christian and and a Jewish person enter the same restaurant.
They order food and talk for two hours about each others lives, each other's hopes and dreams .

They depart agreeing to meet next week at the same time as they have for years.

Just soo were all on the same page here the burden of proof is on the creationist. we the logical thinking ones are not The ones going around saying an invisible man the lives in the sky did all this cool stuff a long time ago that nobody else can do or ever will b able to do again but the invisable man's comeing back so it's all good. atheist are not the ones saying all that. It doesn't matter how you equivicate it or spin it or bs your religon. evulution is not debateable by any means beyond a shadow of a doubt. Creationist are very lazy thinkers.

If Gods could be proven you would think religious folks would have done it by now. The fact that they have been unsuccessful for thousands of years is quite speaks clearly.

People have believed in God for centuries, then science comes along and says there is no God.
The burden of proof is on science.
Can anyone prove there is no God?

We've been through this so many times it is wearying. In classical logic, the burden of proof falls squarely on whoever is making a positive claim. Beyond that, though, and on a more practical level, that burden is on anyone who is trying to persuade someone else to change his mind about something.

So what's the situation here? Who is trying to win whom over to the other side? Are atheists trying to persuade believers to renounce their faith? If so, they must come up with powerful reasons to do so. The same requirement falls to apologists for religion.

But most here aren't actually doing that--we're mostly defending what we believe in the face of perceived attacks on those beliefs.

So what's the point?

Agreed...I don't get on here too very often because of that.
