Ok, let's have one "fact" that proves evolution on the microbes-to-man scale (not speciation, so don't offer "ring species" or e-coli, etc.).
It is not the fault of atheists that you are uneducated and mentally ill. Fix yourself up first and you won't be dependent upon atheists to cure you.

It is not our job to be your doctors, when you choose a faith based mental illness to live by.

Evolution is a fact and you can look it up anywhere. You can even go to your doctor and have him / her explain DNA to you and how it is in every living cell you own.

You could educate yourself about the world you live in, or you could pick up your dead bible and ignore how the world actually works.

Given these options that are available to all, cult followers choose to follow stupidity and their personal "feelings" rather than accept hard facts that make them question their mental illness.

Actually I would be more than happy to prove there isn't one .... as soon as someone is willing to define the term "god" in enough detail that some sort of determination is even possible.

Until "god" is defined in sufficient detail there really is nothing to prove one way or the other and the question of "god" itself is meaningless.

Now, some of the definitions I've often heard would include omnipotence, omniscience, omnibenevolence,... all of which (taken together of separately) can easily be shown to be impossible properties.

So I'm still waiting for a definition of "god" that is at all possible. Then we can begin to talk about null hypotheses and other considerations.

BTW ... Hello old friends!

been gone from Topix for a while. Not sure it's really worth a lot of energy posting much in here. I see the same old desperate theistic blind hate of things they so clearly don't understand. Such abject fear is pitiful really.

You're in the wrong thread. The Evolution forum is at " http://www.topix.com/news/evolution" ;

Atheistic thought does NOT depend on our modern understanding of biological evolution. Atheism has existed since long before evolutionary science existed.

Yep... nothing has changed. The socks seem to be breading like rabbits on some threads... not that it's anything new.

Good to 'see' you... and Welcome back

Yes-- I agree with what you just said.

Nobody really worships an undefined god anyway. It's those pesky definitions, which always include which people have to be hated and persecuted, that makes life on Earth so unpleasant for so many.

Atheism is a simple disbelief in religious lies. It is not a religion.

To call atheism a 'religion' in a negative sense, it is 'religion' that is the negative here.

Science isn't silence on atheism. Dawkins is a scientists and he is very vocal about it.

Also, most scientists are atheists. But we expect foolish trolls to repeat their lies, hoping they stick.

Yay....whatever......
Dawkins cant decide whether he is an atheist or agnostic, so much for his belief in 'true' scientific evidence.
You say 'most scientists are atheists' and then you say 'But we expect foolish trolls to repeat their lies, hoping they stick.'

So hows the global warming scam holding out?
Or now is it just called 'climate change' or is the new pitch 'global cooling'?
What happened Bubby?
Did the earth heat up so much that it went cold?
You know the 'scientific evidence' you hold true and refuse to question was generated by the most utterly corrupt politically motivated 'scientists' whose doctorates for the most part are in politics.
And you will swear that everything they spew out is the absolute truth even if those truths contradict each other.
.
Sucks to be you Bad Boy Bubby......

It's fair to say that the scientific method has produced no evidence for any god which is why many scientists are non believers.

Not necessarily. Would you expect an R&D technician to try and live, physically, inside a Petri dish with his "creation"? He/she would have to find a less physical way of interacting with a less intelligent physical being, i.e., mentally or what could be called "spiritually"...on a particular, information carrying wave signature designed to meld with the target's own consciousness. Our universe could live inside something much larger, like a Petri dish exists inside a lab.

A closed universe isn't necessarily as closed as you suggest and if it IS then it must also be eternal, infinite which describes God. The Universe itself may be God and we are nothing but his/its restless dreaming.
