The Bible said Satan rebelled in Heaven against God because he thought he had enough qualities and powers to be his own master, and that he does not need to devote his existence to someone else

Most people throughout history thought they are good enough to be their own masters and they don't want to devote their existence to someone else.

See how Satan influenced them?

Find someone to devote your life to, don't be your own masters, atheists.

I deserve more praise than your God. I never killed anyone. I never forced a woman to marry her rapist. I never committed mass genocide. And I certainly never threatened anyone eternal torture for not believing in me.

Find someone or something worthy of "worship" or respect, cause it certainly is not your god.

Your assertion assumes that there is a necessity to 'worship' something, either god or something else. I feel no need to 'worship' anyone or anything. I am just a human being. All human beings have flaws, and while some are worthy of respect or admiration, none are worthy of 'worship'.

Devoting your life to a myth, just for the sake of devoting your life to something is a waste of a life.

BTW, atheists don't believe in satan, either, so explaining something as coming from satan is no more convincing to atheists than attributing something to god. YOu can't prove your god is real, and you also can't prove your satan is real. Although, some of you theists attribute so much power to satan, one wonders which being you really worship, since you seem to see your satan as on an equal footing with your god.

The bible should always be read like a storybook. A really funny storybook.

Here are a few things to ponder about the story of Satan.....

First, we must establish that we are talking about god, and that god is suppose to be all seeing, and all knowing.

The bible says that Satan was gods favorite angel. Isn't it funny that an all knowing god would have created something that was his favorite, but not know that he was going to rebel? Isn't it funny that god would give that much authority to a being knowing that he had this terrible pride inside of him? The story goes that one third of all the angels in heaven revolted along with satan. Kinda weird isn't it, that living in the presence of perfection, where there are no tears, and no worries etc.. that a full one third of all of the angels would revolt? Don't you find it peculiar that this all-seeing, all-knowing god didn't know this in advance and do something about it? If you want to worship a perfect god, are you willing to hold him to a perfect standard? Obviously, he isn't even close! As one of my fellow atheists so brilliantly brought up, I have killed no one in my life, but according to your Bible, this god of yours has killed hundreds of thousands, and that doesn't include the flood, or the killing of the first born of Egypt!! Can you step back from your indoctrination, and fear, and ask these questions? More importantly, can you accept the answers??

Actually,

The story of Satan rebelling against Jehovah and falling from heaven does not appear in the Bible at all.

You're thinking "Paradise Lost".

Atheists, as usual take the bible completely out of context to fit their own belief that the word of God "contradicts" itself. You see, atheists are carnally minded and this proves it. They claim to not believe in God but in the end, they talk more about him than anyone else. Very telling.

And yet you are the one who went out of your way to come into a forum on atheism and show everybody how hateful you can be.

If it wasn't for people like you incessantly trying to force your narrow-minded mythology on me, I wouldn't spend a whit of time discussing it at all.

But I will defend myself from your lies and that pisses you off to no end.

Well then, here are some more examples. We certainy don't want to be "out of context"

And you prove my point. The Skeptic's Annotated Bible is a poor commentary. Because atheists are carnally minded and focus on wisdom of the world, rather than spiritual wisdom they can never truly discern God's word. Remember, the fool says in his heart 'there is no God'.(Psalm 14:1)

You are so wrapped up in your Messianic Complex that you are blinded to fact and reason. What a total waste of life!

By all means, please point out the error of my post!!

So let's see if I have this right.... YOU come on an atheist forum, post a bunch of foolishness about your myth, and than claim that atheists talk about god? You post is very telling about the dishonesty of a theist.

And remember: A fool is a fool in heaven, or on earth.

If your god fails to meet the standards of men, then he isn't a god, but a myth created by men.

Again, why are you so vauge? Pick something specific that is misinterpeted, and I will gladly discuss it with you.

You prove my point even further!

Matt 5:22
But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his BROTHER without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his BROTHER, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

This refers to calling your BROTHER (IN CHRIST) a fool. Atheists are not brothers in Christ so this does not apply to them.

You think your particular definition is the only interpretation of this passage that is possible but you are wrong.

You are wrong because you follow the simplistic ideas of 3,000 year of nomads and refuse to "focus on wisdom of the world". You are therefore incapable of actually learning anything about the reality all around you. You are to be pitied for the way your mind has been addled by reliulous brainwashing.

Go ahead. Be immature. Go on the attack and start insulting when someone puts you in the corner.

You started this thread with immature attack and insult, in fact you went out of your way to display these well established Christian properties.

Now you want to play pigeon chess. You're just pathetic.
