Berkshire Eagle Online - Hysteria reveals weakness of faith

When a so-called Christian rants at a non-believer in the snide, aggressive manner of Dan Valenti, it can only mean one thing: his faith is weak. Full Story

It's up to you to use common sense, make the right choices, know the difference between right and wrong, and promote the virtues for the common good of society. I'm sick and tired of people making excuses or rationalizing for what IS wrong and expecting other people to PAY for it. You don't have to believe in anything but that should give noone the free pass to continue to thoroughly corrupt our youth and expect good things to come from it.
I entirely agree. Right back at you.

VT seems to be supported by people like Gul....
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hamid_Gul
Quote Wiki:
General Gul worked closely with the CIA during the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan when he was the ISI chief. But, he became passionately anti-American after the United States turned its back on Afghanistan following the 1989 Soviet withdrawal, as the United States had promised to help build a prosperous Afghanistan.[10] He was further disconcerted when the USA began punishing Pakistan with economic and military sanctions for its secret nuclear program. General Gul then went on to declare that "the Muslim world must stand united to confront the U.S. in its so-called War on Terrorism, which is in reality a war against Muslims. Let's destroy America wherever its troops are trapped."
Unquote.

It purports to be a site for Veterans but it gives the impression of a bunch of nutters with PTSD..

A senior person involved in it is someone called Gordon Duff...

who seems to see conspiracy everywhere.

I take it that explains the vagueness of his comments.

Arguably, Multiculturalism is a failed policy of the Labour Party of GB. However, it has a number of meanings and can be used as a simple adjective
https://www.google.co.uk/search...
where different cultures or sects (usually religious or ethnic) co-exist peacefully, at least at a superficial level. Multiculturalsim becomes multi-cultism when sectarianism occurs. All 'multiculture cultures' need to be binded together by commitment to secular and democratic principles that over-rides commitment to their sectarian tribe. Problems occur when people say they are 'Muslim first' or their 'first allegiance' is to their race or ethnicity'.

Definitely theists.

Atheism = disbelief in god.

The burden of proof lies upon the religious fanatic that chooss to invent and belief in a god, based on no evidence & lots of evidence against this possibility.

Theists then go one step further and apply their imagination to the whole world, choosing to judge everyone according to their imaginaty friend.

All with no evidence or proof.

Atheists don't have to prove that god isn't real - that's already been done - All theists need to do is back up their claims with hard evidence.

Since the dawn of time, not a single theist on the planet has ever provided evidence for god being real.

So we must conclude that you are mentally ill, dishonest liars who do nothing except ruin the world for the rest of us sane people.

Yeah....
Atheists usually just say something like sorry for your loss. If they need the fantasy that they will meet again in the sky to cope with their loss, it is really not my business. It isn't hurting anyone.

Obviously saying something like 'sorry for your loss' isn't objectionable. It's empathetic and supportive.

Perhaps you confuse Amused comments with one at the top of the page, quote: "you're the moron that shows up at a wake and tells those that have lost a loved one that there is no hope of a spiritual rendevous with the faithfully departed because God is a figment of their imagination, right? Yeah.... "
That is a different thing entirely and I have never heard of any instance where that has occurred.

Naturally, nobody at a wake should want anyone to lie about their opinions on god(s) or afterlives. It shouldn't be necessary to do so. Tact might prevent comment, or inform choice of words. In my experience, the superstitious and non-believers can still empathise with each other and get-along perfectly well.

One problem is that religionists have traditionally regarded non-belief as disreputable, or even immoral or disgraceful. We see such attitudes on these boards.

People are well-advised to hide their disbelief even today, in some circumstances...
http://www.gallup.com/poll/155285/atheists-mu...
much like they might feel compelled to hide their sexual orientation. Sometimes it is just tactless to raise an issue - like raising religion/atheism at a wake or funeral.

Perhaps frank and open disbelief can cause a sense of shock or outrage now that defference to religion is less common and less necessary.

So legally, by our own govt, there is a God.
You lose.
Religious language permeating the law is another problem caused by religion and perpetuated by religionists. It certainly wouldn't happen if non-believers could prevent it.

The fact that the law uses the phrase 'act of god' doesn't mean that people in the UK believe in gods. Although the UK has an established Church in England and unelected bishops in the HofLords (again, the fault of religionists) only about 7% of the population regularly attend Church/Mosque/Temple. At least a non-believer can be elected in the UK. In one poll, only about 54% of USAmericans say they would vote for one.

As long as they aren't imposing the fantasy on other people, what they believe is not my business. I'm not the Thought Police, and it is not up to me to tell anyone else what to believe. If it makes them happy and helps them cope with something they need help to cope with, fine. If they share the fantasy with me, I don't challenge it. I merely say something like, well, if you need something, let me know. You can acknowledge the loss without validating the fantasy.

There's a time and place for everything. In another time and place, when they are not in the middle of a difficult emotional experience, if they want to debate the validity of their beliefs, I'm up for it. But, they probably aren't in a place right now where scintillating intellectual conversation is a particularly high priority.

Some might suggest the state of Massachusetts is or was forcing depravity on our youth. Some say they have done so now with The Boy Scouts. I can't think of a greater waste of time and money than said issue being "forced" down everyones throat.
SS parenting not only is a fantasy, it is a basic human rights violation when the state is involved and places a displaced child in a home with two men as to deny any child a mother. This govt blindfolds the sheep making us and the world believe we are some sort of beacon for human rights.
It is amazing in that those that continue to deny any belief in God, part of which is supposed to deal with the truth, seem to make a living, career, and millions by subverting this society against what God or the truth represents. Look around you friend, this nation is about to come unhinged. Lies are not only hurtful but they are expensive, and in most cases return to the liar themselves.
It is no coincidence in as many decades that as a nation we have strayed from spirituality and are now reaping what we have sown. Debt and depravity, subversion and decadence, war and greed. This includes many of those who claim to carry God's word.
This nation was stolen on December 23, 1913 for another land and another God.
It won't be long now.
When you're brave enough to prove the god you're lyingto us about, you will get more respect.

Lying is not a central moral of atheism and so there is conflict between your cult and reality.
