Not quite sure why you are directing this statement at me.
I posted yesterday and today. Hardly "dwelling" here.

As for having "a life," I have a full one.
Topix is just a sometimes hobby.
There are people on here who are woefully ignorant and/or uninformed.
I do my best to help rectify that situation.
:)
Have a lovely day.

It must scare Bubba to think that there is no "god."
He would rather not think about it,
but he has a nagging suspicion that he can't quite shake......

Bearing in mind he deploys socks, he is clearly in at least two minds.

Have you ever read the bible?

If so, have you also ever read a science book?

<quoted text>If God was dead you would be dead also as well as the rest of us. There would be absolutly nothing in existance. You and the rest of the athiests had better get your heads screwed on streaght! It is not folklore, it is real and Heaven and Hell are real just like this earth your living your life on is real.
Psalms 14:1 The fool hath said in his heart, there is no God.
Judgement day is comming. when you die, you will be at judgement and ether Heaven will be your home if you have repented and accepted Jesus Christ as you Lord and Saviour, OR Hell will be your home if you follow your present course of your life living in an unbelieaving life. your choice.
Jesus said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life: No man commith to the Father but by me.
There are at least 4 billion people that don't believe any of that.

Are they all going to hell?

Ok. Take for instance the story of Noah. This man had no education in building a massive large size boat or any kind of boat for that matter. Some one had to tell him and teach him how to build it and that someone was God. The boat noah built was no canoe! Picture yourself building a boat the length of one and a half football fields and as high as a four story building. the ark was exactly six times longer than it was wide- the same ratio used by modern shipbuilders today. The flood had destroyed everything on the earth exept the ark. when the flood waters were abated, the ark rested on the mountains of Ararat. So all this is recorded in the old testement of the Bible (Genesis 7 and 8)
This story is true. People have doubts about that it really happend, yet there is evedince of a large massive boat on the mountains of Ararat in northern Turkey today.
Outside of biblical references, how do you know this?

Have you ever, even once, looked for evidence contradicting this story?

If so, what did you find?

If not, why not?

If you have the courage of your convictions, type the words "Noah's flood never happened" into google, and read at least one non-apologetic link from the results.

<quoted text>The boat in question hasn't been proven to be anything that could hold two of every animal on the planet. Even if the boat was of the size you say it would not be structurally capable of holding the shear weight of all those animals. You really believe all animals in the world were loaded in the ark? Did they migrate to the ark crossing seas and mountains from all corners of the earth? Or did Noah swing by their respective habitats and pick them up? I you think about it logically an logistically it's impossible. But then thinking and logic don't mesh well with the bible do they?
The boat, made entirely of wood, could not even support its own weight.

He doesn't believe in the bible.

He does believe in the golden rule, which appears in many more places than the bible.

It precedes the bible by millennia.

Where? I don't see it.
It's only in your mind, bubba.

To paraphrase D. Adams, isn't the world amazing enough without having to invent invisible parental figures?

As for a problem, why do percieve a problem?

Depressing? Far from it.

I, like the person who started this thread and other non-believers everywhere, am delighted and excited to see humanity leaving superstition behind.

It gives me hope that humankind is entering adulthood by taking responsibility for ourselves and our actions instead of blaming an imaginary boogeyman and looking to an imaginary parent for care/protection.

There may be hope for us as a species yet.

Sure, the thing that would force you to eat your children, is a god? The thing that lost a war, because it was beaten by the iron chariot, is a god? I don't think so.

You were born atheist! Not a theist, and becoming a theist is a matter of indoctrination. Which god did your parents pick for you?

It generally depends on where they live, or family tradition, to change it somebody will either try to scare or bribe others to follow their religion. It's all about the money boys, the liaisons* to the gods, need to eat too, and they damned sure don't want to work.
