"Atheism is one of the most absurd belief systems every devised. A worldview based on denial of a belief in God will inevitably manifest itself in bitterness, anger, and hatred. Atheists are a miserable lot who seek to inflict their misery on everyone else, often resorting to ruthless tactics to force their opponents into submission."

Speaking of absurd, now that first paragraph is absurd. This guy is suffering from a christian persecution affliction with severe projection issues, besides being a complete ignoramus about atheism.

Agreed, in some aspects it seems based in a self rightous attitude of not wanting anyone, meaning God , to tell them what to do . Simple rebellion against authority.

In the stone age an Atheist would be a rare thing in deed. As sciences improves on its knowledge of the universe the need for a God becomes less needed. And who would want a God if it requires more work and less play. With out a God we can lower our morality and less needing of a good conscience. Why today's TV programming is a testament to all of this. And when Atheist read this the go nuts spewing venom looking for anything to jump on. Even if it's as trivial as a undotted I Or uncrossed T

No Atheist are plentiful and growing.

Since atheists are evidently a political force, Who are the atheist core constituents who exhibit lower morals and no need for a good conscience?

Atheism isn't a belief system and morality has nothing to do with religion. Atheists are not less moral than religionists.
http://www.thefreedictionary.com/atheist

Religion = superstition
Theology = mythology

One should only believe anything as far as it can be justified by reason and evidence.

Atheism is a lack of belief in god. It makes no statements about morality.

Also religion does not hold a monopoly over morality, mr judgemental theist...

Atheism is a magnet that attracts all sorts of deviants as a cover, now that it has become popular, for the deviants to publically parade their deviancy as normal and no different than any other form of atheism with no one to be accountable to but themselves no matter how abominable their deviancy. There is simply no limit to the degradation. Agnostics may parade themselves as just ignoramuses(the Latin equivalent), but atheists are just plain stupid and that's who they attract.

Actually I think that agnostics are really just wanna-be atheists who have yet to come out of the closet and publically declare their stupidity.

And then they all call themselves "liberal" and join the Democratic Party.

Yon is a typical theist troll.

He knows by now that atheism is a category to define everybody who is NOT a theist, but he feigns ignorance (at least I hope he's pretending to be ignorant).

His display of hate and bigotry is a typical reaction to the nagging fear he has that his religious house of cards is falling apart and there's nothing he can do about it except lash out at others.

The more he doubts his own beliefs, the more he will hate.

It's pitiful really. But still --

Yet atheists are under represented in prisons. So much for that theory.
The vast majority of people in this country are christian, and viewership is what determines television programming.

Your uneducated posts demonstrate what the religious are all about. Mostly lies, with a big helping of a persecution complex.

"Atheism is one of the most absurd belief systems every devised"

Well, that's where I stopped reading.
Since atheism is not a belief system, it is obvious that the author is not interested in fact, or honesty. He must be a theist.

Your post says more about you than anyone else. Obviously, the only thing keeping you from being an immoral, criminal, is your belief that you are being watched by an invisible sky-pixe. How abosolutley pathetic can you get? I see that your belief in the sky-fairy doesn't keep you from lying though.

Do you mean that you think they are going to come out of the closet and declare their belif in an invisible, unproven, do-nothing god? Yup, that would be stupdity.

The only thing that keeps atheists and wanna-bes from being immoral is their fear of getting caught in their own vices with nothing to look forward to but permanent extinction. And like the "Fox Who Cut off His Tail" - they spend so much energy trying to pack life into their dying organisms by trying to recruit other fools into their miserable, hopeless state and blaspheme the Creator. They are not only ignorant of Scripture - but history as well.

The Book of Remembrance Malachi 3

16 Then those who feared the Lord spoke to one another, and the Lord gave attention and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before Him for those who fear the Lord and who esteem His name. 17 “They will be Mine,” says the Lord of hosts,“on the day that I prepare My own possession, and I will spare them as a man spares his own son who serves him.” 18 So you will again distinguish between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve Him.

Makes me laugh how people blame Atheists for murder and rape because they don`t have a "all an powerfull being" telling them what to do, do you know how funny that sounds?

every person is to there own, just because i don`t beileve in the ten comandments does not! mean i will go out a kille someone, it`s just common sense not to, not a "God" telling you it`s wrong.

Anyways if Atheism was so wrong, wouldn`t they all be killed or punished some how? because from what iv seen and lived, we are living a pretty easy going stress free life :)

i think people are getting Non-Believers and Atheists mixed up

Your mythological Jesus was a "liberal", socialist who never married and never spoke against gays.He would not approve of war and his only act of violence was against the money lenders. Sounds like he would vote Democratic. He also said that you should pay your taxes. But since he is a myth, you should vote Republican. Right?

Go back and read it all. Start with the second paragraph.

People say we need more religion when what they really mean is we need more police. HL Mencken

A classic example was Montreal in 1968. Montreal is full of churches, and back in 1968, the overwhelming majority of people in Montreal identified themselves as believers in god. The police in Montreal went on strike. The result was an orgy of violence, arson and looting that began soon after the first police officers walked off the job.

The priests did not go on strike. The churches did not close. There was no mass renunciation of religion that occurred simultaneously with the police strike. The only variable in the 'experiment' was the number of police officers present to enforce the law. Obviously, religious beliefs about morality completely failed to restrain believers from engaging in immoral behavior. If religion were the source of genuine morals, religious people would behave the same whether anyone was watching or not. That's quite obviously not the case.
