It's amusing that you keep avoiding answering the question of whether you're a Christian or not.

If you're actually a Christian, I guess that Peter story just got past you, did it?

Depends on what their belief is concerning the existence of deities.

Why is this soooooo har to understand --

Theism = belief in the existence of 1 or more deities.

Atheism - literally "a-theism" = NOT theism.

One is either a theist or is NOT a theist.

Gnostic/Agnostic deals with knowledge, not belief.

So an agnostic says it is impossible to really know whether deities exist or not. Okay, but that still doesn't answer what they BELIEVE. It's a cop out to deflect the conversation.

I didn't blame anyone other than Lanza. But it's your god that wouldn't stop the Newtown children from being shot. Negligent god.

So you do blame God. I think you probably had issues in your life before but I don't expect you to post that. I will leave it alone there. I'm off for the next two days to spend with family and I am going to. You have yourself a Happy Holiday and i will post on the 26th or 27th.

Wrong.

Atheism is belief that no gods exist.

Lacking a belief either way is agnosticism, or believing it is not a legitimate question to ponder.

Atheism is from the greek - "atheos" - no god.

You atheists lie about this constantly.

No, atheism is the *lack* of theistic belief. Atheism is not a belief.

No, agnosticism is lacking *knowledge* of one's position. It is not about "belief".

You mean "without god".

Oh hey Buck. You got a "scientific theory" of IDC yet? Or is it still just "Something didit, somehow, somewhere, at sometime, that may or may not be an invisible magic Jew wizard nudge nudge wink wink"?

Thought so.

Why is this so important to you?

I don't get it.

Frankly, I'm ok with either version.

I believe there are no gods

or

I don't believe there are any gods.

Everything you have stated above is the result of your own fears. God has nothing to do with what you do or is done to you. We humans have been granted with the attribute of free will. It means, we are directly under the law of cause and effect. God does not care if you break the law. He is not the One Who will punish you for it.

You can abandon your religion and have no fear of what you have done. You can get into another and feel just the same. God has nothing to do with religions. Religion just like anything else in life is no different from the things of man.

Not to confuse you more, but you might look at theological noncognitivism or ignosticism.

"Live a good life.

If there are gods and they are just, then they will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by.

If there are gods, but unjust, then you should not want to worship them.

If there are no gods, you will be gone, but will have lived a noble life that will live on in the memories of your loved ones."

Agnostics fall when they fail to understand science and how it is totally different to the made up bollocks known as religion
