Do you mean that immoral, genocidal, homicidal ,infanticidal, slavery and rape condoning god of the bible? Even if it were to be real, it would be unworthy of worship
Haven't you heard, we make our own decisions, haven't you heard who bless those shall be blessed, and those who curse, shall be cursed. Those people decided to rape and murder, and they decided not to trust God which corrupted their lives. This God is worthy of worship, he created us, he loves us and he gave us all a purpose, and if you won't respect him for that, you shall burn in hell.

I've been an atheists for several years now and I won't look back. I no longer have to fear going to hell just because of my sexual orientation.
<quoted text> Isn't it funny that you just blabbered about how loving God is and yet you, his disciple, do not care if we burn in hell or not?
Yes, that's you're loving God, I won't care if you burn, and God will watch you burn with sadness. I'm not God, so why should I care if you burn.

Isn't it funny, how this forum has been a debate between the Christian God, and you don't know which one it is.

No all powerful compassionate god can possibly exist because we have evidence of avoidable suffering.

George Carlin said it best about your alleged "loving" god who would rather see you suffer everlasting torture:

"When it comes to bullshit, big-time, major league bullshit, you have to stand in awe of the all-time champion of false promises and exaggerated claims, religion. No contest. No contest. Religion. Religion easily has the greatest bullshit story ever told. Think about it. Religion has actually convinced people that there's an invisible man living in the sky who watches everything you do, every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a special list of ten things he does not want you to do. And if you do any of these ten things, he has a special place, full of fire and smoke and burning and torture and anguish, where he will send you to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry forever and ever 'til the end of time!

But He loves you......."

you didn't mention that God forgives and don't understand the meaning of our own choices. We humans decide to do wrong, and won't suffer the consequences, if we pray for forgiveness. God loves you no matter what, but is he going to put ungrateful, rude people who murder and steal, and don't believe him, into heaven? Why would he do that to people who don't deserve it.
That's your loving God and if can't deal with it, then burn in hell.

Your god doesn't understand the meaning of your choices? That not a very omnicient god to begin with.

Then all you have to do is ask for forgiveness? That means you can do whatever you want, and not have to deal with the consequences of your misdeeds, because all you have to do is obtain a "Free Get Out OF Hell Card" by asking for forgiveness. That's a horrible morality system.

How about doing good on your own, because it the right thing to do without having any external threats if you don't do good? Your choice of being good or doing acts of atrocities boils down to your flimsy belief in an imaginary friend. No wonder jails are full of you christians.

You have to truly mean it, it's actually impossible, to mean it that you want forgiveness and then say I'll do whatever I want, because I'll ask God for forgiveness after I done it.

The "poof, you are forgiven" leads to another interesting question. According to christian doctrine, jesus had to die on the cross as a sacrifice to atone for all of mankind's sins.
But he didn't stay dead, did he? So there was no sacrifice of any sort, was there?

It was all just a joke, I suppose... only everyone who was murdered by Genuine Christianity™ is not laughing...
Amused wrote:
To make it universal, they had to invent a hypothetical inherited sin (original sin) so that the well behaved among us would still feel some need to be forgiven even if they personally did not harm anyone.
Yeah... that's pretty convenient for the con-- what makes it a pure-con?

They don't even have to cough up anything-- this "sin" is about as real as fairy dust...
Amused wrote:
So, if a human sacrifice is needed to "atone" for a trivial, hypothetical sin, how come people who have committed truly atrocious acts can be forgiven without any sacrifice accompanying the atonement? And, conversely, how come god could not have simply poofed away the original sin without all the bother and drama attending to the new testament? Did he not have the power to do so?
You'd think so, since there really wasn't any sacrifice at all--nobody was really inconvenienced very much at all-- to an immortal being? Three days is nothing.
Amused wrote:
If he did, the whole sacrifice thing seems pointless and unnecessary. If he did not, one must ask what constrained him? Does the christian god answer to an even higher power that sets limits on what he can and cannot do?
That is an interesting question-- Robert Heinlen's "Job: A comedy of justice" proposed that all human gods had to answer to beings who were as far superior to them, as they were to humans... and so on up the "food chain"...:)

Nope.

Not according to your ugly bible we don't.

Your bible >>clearly<< states that your ugly godling is fully in control of the future.

That means?

Everyone is just a puppet who's strings are pulled by your ugly godling.

So people have no real choice-- they do as your god makes them do.

Or?

Your god is NOT in control of ANYTHING!

Which is it?

You are truly an evil person.

Seriously-- you are beyond the pale, evil.

You are so evil-- you make those Boston Terrorists seem ordinary.

All THEY did is kill a few people.

YOU?

YOU LAUGH AT INFINITE TORTURE!

That is seriously evil, bub.

I am asking you to prove your god is the real one, instead of Zeus or Horus. You cannot prove that any deity exists, let alone prove that your deity is the true one.

According to your buybull, a man can murder and steal, but still go to heaven if he accepts Jesus and ask for forgiveness, but a good man can go to hell just for not being Christian.
That is nor love, that is extortion.

Well, actually, no one knows who's going to heaven, except for a Christian, but if you're a Good person, there's a possibility you'll make it.

I'm good.

But.

Even of your ugly god OFFERED me his "heaven"?

I'd have to decline.

Why?

Well.... just for starters? YOU will be there...

... and that?

That would be...

... hellish.
