It seems to me, they would read the buybull. and add "in his name", to their damned prayers.

Well, they still have seven more children, and I am sure she is good for at least a half dozen more than that, so all is not lost. They have plenty more chances to get it right. I just hoped they have planned for using lot's of spots in the family plot.

Agreed, but they still have seven more children, and who knows but she could be pregnant now.

The reason we have to get these people with the delusion of a god they have created themselves treated for that delusion.

Whereas I am a huge fan of allowing adults to do stupid things to their own bodies as much as they wish?

I am totally against allowing children to suffer, from the stupid choices made by even stupider adults.

This is nothing short of child abuse; people sacrificing their children to their barbaric gods.

I would have thought that in 2013, people were beyond such stone-age practices.

No better than worshiping a volcano...

Ah, yes, but they "are good parents deeply distraught over the loss of another child."

Spare me.

Spare me.
But not sufficiently distraught, to have avoided making the >>same<< mistake a second time ...

... I find I simply do not believe them for a second.

But I especially think that their pastor, who encouraged this "volcano-worship", should be charged with secondary manslaughter.

And face some serious jail time.

In my view, they should not have been allowed to resume parenthood unsupervised after the first death from neglect. More specifically sufficiently regular medical supervision should have been mandated by the courts so as to ensure that no serious medical problem could be ignored to the point of danger. Failing that, the children should have been put into the foster system. The court should have gotten right what Bush couldn't, i.e., "Fool me twice, shame on me," and what Reagan got right, i.e., "Trust, but verify."

Ultimately, of course, the parents are to blame, but the courts screwed up, too.

I agree wholeheartedly; someone screwed up by not enforcing supervision of their remaining children.

If only they knew of some all powerful compassionate god that could undo the harm they have caused.
