American Atheists Would Not Have Enjoyed CPAC anyway

There are 8 comments on the National Review Online story from Feb 28, 2014, titled American Atheists Would Not Have Enjoyed CPAC anyway. In it, National Review Online reports that:

American Atheists, the group that was disinvited from this year's Conservative Political Action Conference, was founded by a left-wing gadfly who looked to the Soviet model of a post-religious society and whose brief against religion did not extend to wider concerns for individual rights or freedom.

Just more prejudice such as this....

but as Mr David Silverman said, "America’s religious conservatives can deny it all they want, but soon they’re going to realize that ignoring the growing number of atheist constituents is a losing proposition,”

Atheists (skeptics, humanists or whatever) are of all political persuasions - they certainly are in the UK. Religion and politics are bad bedfellows.

Some US Republicans seem to muddle certain issues together - politics, religion, guns and a dose of libertarianism - into some crazy ideology. They think they know what they're talking about.

Religion = superstition
Theology = mythology

Actually, I think Buck looks a little like David Boreanaz. That face shot is not very good, though. Like Boreanaz, Buck probably looks better in 3/4 profile than face on.

It's a jail mugshot, and they had just broken my nose.

I'm much more handsome cleaned-up and uninjured. I was also high on crack cocaine. Not sure the pic shows that.

I hope none of my friends here find this light chastisement offensive, but personally, I see the inability to say anything favorable about those with whom one is in fundamental disagreement as a weakness and the compulsion to insult them as a basic character flaw. I agree with almost nothing that Buck says, but the photos he posts of himself are far from ugly.

I, for instance, am definitely losing any good looks that I had as a young man, and on another forum, I've been characterized as an "ugly old woman." I find that hilarious, though, and find myself admiring Lincoln's responses to barbs about his homeliness. Gives me hope now that I have to rely more on my personality to attract women...
