Bill, sorry to say but you just proved that there is "Angry" in anything. you sound like an angry agnostic.
for you to say that only agnostics "accept others who are entitled to hold views different from your own" then you are living in a bubble. I am an Atheist and many of my close friends are Atheists. and I got news for you Bill; "the thing we ATHEISTS accept is that everyone is entitled to their own belief system, provided it does not harm, or threaten to harm, other human beings." your quote, just changed agnostics to atheists.
Its wrong to speak for all agnostics (as it is wrong to speak for all atheists.) for you to claim "we agnostics" does not mean that all agnostics have your world view. there are bad, aggressive agnostics just as there are atheists, religious people etc.
For you to claim that all atheists don't play nice and to claim that all agnostics are playing nice, and calling "all those zealots to shush down a while." only shows the hypocrisy of your article. what you are doing is calling for more reasons to divide people. divide them into groups. that's not "playing nice" mr. agnostic.
I am an Atheists and all the atheists I know don't have side lines. we don't have "if you are not with us, you are against us." do a little research before you come up with such statements. oh and by research I don't mean Google. go out there and interview Atheists and agnostics. you might be surprised to find that the two are very similar to any other human being. there are the "angry" ones and there are the ones that "play nice" in both groups.
Calling all agnostics by stating that atheists don't play nice, "join our club, its much better", only promotes anger between groups of different belief systems. you are an angry agnostic.
Relax buddy, there is no "battle royal" anywhere. humans will find things to argue about forever. we are all different.

Agreed. I guess some non believers are comfortable calling themselves an agnostic and that's all well and good. I have though seen some cases where a so called agnostic charges up to an atheist wanting to get into this crazy angry debate and in those cases I think it's a cowardly Fundie in disguise claiming to be an agnostic so he or she doesn't have to defend some insane religion.
