Sweden is a parliamentary democracy, which means that all public power proceeds from the people. At the national level, the people are represented by the Riksdag (Swedish parliament) which has legislative power. The Government implements the Riksdag's decisions and draws up proposals for new laws or law amendments.

Gee, I think I sent off a donation to some organization when both the first major tsunami struck in the Indonesia area and killed so many people in many countries, and also when New Orleans got flooded.
That was compulsive giving, as I realized afterwards that a country, like the USA, does not need donations from abroad to look after the plight of their own citizens.
I recall also one of the charitable agencies at the time lamenting that people will donate so much during a major event, such as the tsunami, but the ongoing tragedies in the world keep happening, and they don't get near as much help towards those.
We tend to be controlled by emotion rather than reason. It is much more upsetting at the time to hear that several hundred thousand people have died due to one event, while ignoring that in the same year several million people have starved to death in countries that suffer corrupt governments, which when there is a drought or a flood, do not help their own people.
I am not suggesting, though, that we stop helping in times of crisis, but just to be wiser about how our donations are being used, and how they go to the most benefit of all.
I am not suggesting that many people in the US did not respond to the tsunami plight, but the US government were found wanting and were shamed by world opinion into increasing it’s aid 10 fold.

Just Results made a statement based on lies and ignorance, he considered his lying statement to be truth for only one reason, he is christian and he cloned his statement from a christian. The fact that the original statement was based on lies and the original maker of that statement has been publicly humiliated for lying makes no difference to Just Results interpretation.

Wrong, as expected. You are yet another one who falls for the christian lies and you lie for that belief in the face of FACT. The fact that christian liars are now being exposed as the liars they are ought to make you seriously consider the lies you plagiarise. Just results has already had is nose wiped in his lying sh|te, looks like you are next on the list

Yes, this is true, eventually after much embarrassment the US contributed more than the UK.
US total expenditure on the 2004 tsunami = 2.875 million (dollars)
UK total expenditure on the 2004 tsunami = 796 million (dollars)

The US has around 5 times the population and is constantly shouting how it is the richest country in the world and yet could only manage 3.6 times the aid effort. Well done… However it does explain how you can make the richest nation claim

So lets look at the per capita contribution

US $9.81
UK $13.20

Sorry, what were you saying, not sure I correctly heard your ranting lies about counting it
