In America, atheists are still in the closet

So do many other interest and identity groups. Complaint is our political lingua franca: it's what Occupiers, Tea Partiers, Wall Street titans, religious and irreligious people share.

"An independent study into the Swedish central bank, the Riksbank, has shown it acquired gold from Nazi Germany during the Second World War.

The report said that almost 60 tonnes of gold was bought from Germany, much of which has never been accounted for.

An official who helped compile the report said there was no indication that the gold came from individual Jews or concentration camp victims, but he said this could not be entirely ruled out.

The findings were released by a bank-appointed commission after an investigation lasting nearly a year of neutral Sweden's financial dealings with Germany during World War II.

After the war, Sweden returned 6 metric tonnes of gold to the Netherlands and 7.2 metric tonnes to Belgium. The gold, which Sweden had received from Nazi Germany's Reichsbank, was believed to have been taken from those countries' central banks.

The newly discovered gold bears the same kind of markings as gold bars of Dutch origin that were smelted gold coins, the investigation said. It also said it turned up 0.6 metric tons of gold of undetermined origin.

Investigator Harry Flam said research in other countries has shown that gold that the Nazis took from Jews in the Netherlands was melted down and sold to Switzerland. "

Wrong. The Wrght brothers claim to be first to fly in a powered aeroplane, a myth that US historians like to keep alive. They certainly did not invent the aeroplane
The history of powered flight goes back to William Henson and John Stringfellow more than 50 years before Kitty Hawk
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Samuel_H...
http://www.chardmuseum.co.uk/Powered_Flight/
Then French successful experiments including
http://www.britannica.com/EBchecked/topic/578...
And not particularly successful but never the less manned powered flight some 9 month before the Wright brothers “made history”
http://www.ctie.monash.edu.au/hargrave/pearse...
All before the Wright brothers
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_aviat...
Is more concise.
You can of course go back even further if you want to consider unpowered flight, http://firstflight.open.ac.uk/cayley/cayley.h...
Or perhaps to
Leonardo da Vinci whose detailed designs for mechanical flight still exist today
Or
Abbas Ibn Firnas in the 9th century
or
Or even back to 400 BC China with the first know kite.
You are crazy , do you even read your own links?

)))) Henson built a scale model of his design, which made one tentative steam-powered "hop" as it lifted, or bounced, off its guide wire. Attempts were made to fly the small model, and a larger model with a 20 foot wing span, between 1844 and 1847, without success.((((((
The Aerial Transit Company never built the largest version of the Aerial Steam Carriage because of the failed attempts with the medium-sized model.

WITHOUT SUCCESS!

Another American did fly a model before the Wright Brothers , but is was unmanned. The Wright brothers are credited with the first machine to fly under power "carrying a man".
You cant change history Christine.

You don't get credit for failure hunny.

Screw "who invented the airplane". It’s full of US hype unless you search deeper than page one
Google “history of the aeroplane” then at least half the entries tell you the facts without the BS nationalist BS.
Tell me how are inventions recorded? Is it with drawings?
There were many inventors of aircraft , some flew models successfully. But the Wright Brothers had the first working self powered airplane that could carry a man untethered and under it's own control. To establish this they did repeat performances and the machine became better with improvements. That place is history cannot be taken away from them. I don't even know why you would try.

To make this even better understood Christine , the methodology they used , inventing the first propellers and aileron controls
tail and a gas powered engine are still used today.
They were able to hand carve propellers that were 99% efficient
though the tail configuration changed the same ideas are used today in modern fighters such as the Saab Grippen, and other with a forward canard aircraft.

I would say that this is most typical of Not Bot conversations: the inability to back down from a statement that obliviously a lie or in the very least, flat out wrong.

Who invented the airplane?

Is the UK a monarchy?

It's has allready been established that they did not invent the aeroplane, they merely piloted it, unmanned aeroplanes were allready in existence
