)))) Henson built a scale model of his design, which made one tentative steam-powered "hop" as it lifted, or bounced, off its guide wire. Attempts were made to fly the small model, and a larger model with a 20 foot wing span, between 1844 and 1847, without success.((((((
The Aerial Transit Company never built the largest version of the Aerial Steam Carriage because of the failed attempts with the medium-sized model.
WITHOUT SUCCESS!
Another American did fly a model before the Wright Brothers , but is was unmanned. The Wright brothers are credited with the first machine to fly under power "carrying a man".
You cant change history Christine.
You don't get credit for failure hunny.
Of course I read them stupid (response to “You are crazy”), why the f*ck do you think I posted them, because each and every one disproves the claim the Wright brothers INVENTED the aeroplane

The Wright brothers DID NOT invent the aeroplane no, matter what US history teaches. That the Wright brothers were the first documented aviators to perform a successful controlled manned and powered flight however that in no way represents invention.

You seem to omit the piece from the Chard Museum, which was also confirmed in the wiki piece

“In June 1848, just months after Henson had emigrated, Stringfellow SUCCESSFULLY flew his model inside a long room in a disused lace mill in Chard.“

That was a WORKING model aeroplane. As I asked barfy but face, how can the Wright brother have invented something that ALREADY existed?

You also seem to have IGNORED all the other historical evidence I supplied, why is this?

I don’t want credit, I just want facts.

The Wright Brothers invented the first fully functional true airplane.
Not Model , Not theoretical , not glider.
An airplane!
Wrong

Look up the definition of the word invented

What you appear to be saying here is that the 1884 De Dion-Bouton et Trepardoux is not a car and the Jaguar XK-R is, is that how you want people to see you?

There were many inventors of aircraft , some flew models successfully. But the Wright Brothers had the first working self powered airplane that could carry a man untethered and under it's own control. To establish this they did repeat performances and the machine became better with improvements. That place is history cannot be taken away from them. I don't even know why you would try.
To make this even better understood Christine , the methodology they used , inventing the first propellers and aileron controls
tail and a gas powered engine are still used today.
They were able to hand carve propellers that were 99% efficient
though the tail configuration changed the same ideas are used today in modern fighters such as the Saab Grippen, and other with a forward canard aircraft.

INVENTORS – yes, notice the word, INVENTORS, are we getting somewhere?

I did not argue with the documented evidence in fact I supplied documented evidence although I did throw in a reference to the undocumented flights of Richard Pearce

The methodology does not matter, they did not invent the aeroplane years (or possibly centuries) after it had been invented.

What they did was refine and existing invention, the historical evidence confirms this. US History denies it, who do I believe, nationalistic fervour or physical evidence?
