False. Atheism is as much a worldview as Catholicism or Christianity. We just don't believe in a god. We do believe in different things, like rational thinking, moral and ethical behavior, that sort of thing. The amount of false info about atheists on here is astounding.

I think you got the wrong end of the stick, what Staks Rosch is trying to say is that atheism is not a worldview like a religion is. A religion has a set of rules were as atheism has none, as a atheist you need not judge you life by the words of Richard Dawkins you are free to make your own standard, however he is not saying that atheism does not have a part to play in forming your worldview. Rosch used the example of gay rights because we atheist’s cannot believe that homosexuality is a sin we have no reason to prevent gay rights, thus the only thing we have left to consider is the idea that we should give the same rights to all which gives us a reason to be for gay rights.

One thing however I think Rosch is off on is his idea that atheism is an affect of scepticism and reason, not a cause. As someone who has in some way been an atheist all my life I think the door can go both ways, as a lifelong atheist it has never crossed my mind that there is something that is unquestionable. Thus everything and everyone was debatable which led me to be truly and constantly sceptical.

True, however there's a lot of misinformation on this site about atheists in general. I'm beginning to wonder if the writers for the atheist forum are really just religious trolls distorting the truth about us or something.

Same here and there is a good example to thats recent to. http://www.topix.com/religion/atheism/2013/06...
The thing that made me stop reading is this line in the article topix links. "There is a superb piece in the magazine this week by the Chief Rabbi, Jonathan Sacks, titled 'Atheism has failed: only religion can defeat the barbarians." At which point one must ask "what the F*** created the barbarians? Oh right religion".
This Rabbi's work is called "superb" but really the title alone makes it sound like it was made by a toll to tick me off. There are alot intelligent people on this site, but they aren't from the links topix gives you can be sure.
