<quoted text>Yikes, I don't see Nature as a very empathetic entity, what with the earthquakes and gamma rays that hit everyday. And the Golden Rule doesn't take into account the masochists idea of what's Golden. Not everybody likes titty pinchers.
Most of the crowd you see in this forum are more interested in the offensive *doing unto others before they do it to me*. mindset.
Intelligent post; But through natural disintegration and reintegration, harmony is achieved.

It also causes release of serotonin in the brain, which causes good feeling.

Pretty good design.

The heart is an organ that pumps blood; it has nothing to do with emotions. But it has been used for centuries as a metaphor for the seat of human emotion. In a community of skeptics, if I use the word in that fashion, some one will inevitably point out the heart's limitations as a physical organ; I used "metaphorical" as a modifier to avoid that extraneous little exchange. Worked, to, except for your belated response.

Indeed it is. The brain is, after all, the true origin of all emotion.

While the brain might be a factor, the true origin of emotions transcends its confines.

Pope Francis called for peace in the Middle East and Ukraine today, speaking after the Angelus in St. Peter’s Square. He also expressed his concern for the plight of Christian communities in the Iraqi town of Mosul.
The Pope then urged all to pray for peace in all situations of tension and conflict in the world, and he especially mentioned the Middle East and Ukraine.
“May the God of peace,” Francis said,“arouse in all an authentic desire for dialogue and reconciliation. Violence cannot be overcome with violence. Violence is overcome with peace!.”
“Let us pray in silence for peace,” he said.
Francis also adressed the situation in Iraq, and referred to the persecutions of Christians.“Today our brothers are persecuted,” he said,"they are banished from their homes and forced to flee without even being able to take their belongings!”
“Dear brothers and sisters, all so persecuted, I know of your suffering […] I am with you in your faith with Him who has vanquished evil,” the Pope said.“Let us ask Our Lady to help us grow in patience and in mercy,” he concluded.
