It's like you are mechanically re-echoeing what you have been fed with dogmatically.

I dare you to come on the Atheism grave(Atheism destroyed at last thread), and you will see wonder.

Ah, pigeon chess, is it? Well, we've seen it again and again, and still we are atheist, so what you have(like all the rest) is a big fat nothing! The Christain god who would make you cook and eat your children, is just not a real big seller here.

In every human department, the leaders are always in the minority, while the teeming multitudes follow.
Down the leader, and you have captured the crowd.
Kill Atheism, and the 50% who are non-believers will swiftly make a detour.

That supposition only works for people who have need of leaders. But many if not most atheists have rejected the leader/follower paradigm altogether, which is why organizing atheists his often likened to herding cats. As more people reject religion, atheist cultures are emerging--this very form reflects that, is a part of the process. But none of the regular atheist participants lead or are lead within the group. there are stronger, more articulate voices among us, but any who presume to speak for all of out little group or for the whole of the atheist subpopulation is ignored, or rebutted.

Leaders? We don't need no stinkin' leaders!

Suggesting atheism can be "killed" is to misunderstand what's happening. Atheism isn't growing, superstition (including religion) is declining.

The enemy of religious faith isn't atheism, it is education and science that undermine belief in gods.

There are other factors of course, such as the freedom of speech we enjoy, critical thinking and scientific method. The Internet helps spread new ideas and freethinker's comments more widely and much faster than in previous centuries.

I'd rather fellowship with Atheists and Agnostics than with any other groups.
While they don't believe in God, they have every good reason not to.
Whereas, believers believe without any good reason for so doing.

No one told me to be an atheist. I was born as one. And why do I need to belong to a religion? I managed very well without one so far.

but Atheism too is a religion, i.e. a godless religion.

Any religion founded on belief may not be necessary, but not so with that established on knowledge and understanding of God and His laws.

Do you believe there are fairies living at the bottom of your garden? No? Is this lack of belief a religion?

Do you believe there is an invisible pink dragon living in your toilet bowl? No? Is this lack of belief a religion?

Atheism is not a religion. It's just a lack of belief in supernatural deities.

Atheism is a point of view with respect to religion, but not a religion in its own right, but even atheists get confused on this point, so I can see where you do, too. I like to associate with fellow atheists, but unlike some in my locality, I reject the notion that any atheist point of view needs to be promoted to the general public. Mostly, I like to get together, drink beer, and talk about anything except religion. Music, the arts, local news, laws, crime and corrections, maybe even politics (not a driving concern for me). A tiny minority of the atheists with whom I am acquainted try to promote atheism and think of themselves as atheist "leaders." I suppose some need that sort of self-aggrandizement, and the rest of use tolerate it with varying degrees of amusement.

I don't see anything in that that remotely resembles a religion. Frankly, most believers that I know would fit right in unless they started spouting off about God.
