Adale, I'm with you 100%. I was an atheist until age 35, U.C. Berkeley science trained thinking, science explains all kind of guy, and then Zappo! "Out of nowehere" literally I was put through a three crash course in spiritual reality. I met God for Something was able to manipulate my whole world for three days of non-stop synchronicity experiences that no science could begin to explain, the feeble efforts one reads about now, e.g. overlooking all the other possible "coincidences" like seeing one's new car model suddenly popping up everywhere you look, looking absurd after one has had actual experience of spiritual reality because these events carry such powerful spiritual energy they can make you literally shake with electrical energy, Shakers and Quakers come from this experience. I sweated profusely every time a new spiritual revelation came into my mind which prior to this had hardly ever given much thought to such stuff, only as comparative cultural anthropological interest that long ago dismissed Christianity as superstitious nonsense Big Daddy in the Sky needers imagining their God and beliefs. Muhammad too reported heavy sweating with his visions so there seems to be a physical reaction when spiritual energy goes through a person beside the telling shared Religious Themes that tend to come out of such experiences.

Atheists just do not know what they are talking about when they pronounce to the world all their prejudiced opinions about theism, God, spiritual phenomena. I know. I was once one of these stupes who arrogantly give their bigot's opinion about a subject they know nothing about, only hearsay from others who also know nothing about their subject matter.

Adale posted:

How unfortunate that many have never witnessed the invisible spiritual part of creation.

Do you think I'm that ignorant to believe in something that doesn't exist.
I was once an atheist, but something was shown to me that none of you will ever understand or accept if I told you.

Let's just say that I am very lucky, god was willing to reviel his existance .
And I'm not alone in this, I've spoken to others who like myself did not believe in god unto something strange took place.

None of you will believe me but that's o.k., I understand because I was the same way as you.
It can't be explained, because it's not earthly it's spirit.
But it did happen and I was a witness to it.

<quoted text>Let's start here you did on page 10. My post # 201, you didn't like, so you distorted my words to fit your meaning in post # 204, and at the same time, tried to claim I was the one using the distortion.
http://www.topix.com/forum/religion/atheism/T...
Then on page 11, post 217, you accuse me of distortion again, but without any counter to the bible's scriptural trash, that I posted. http://www.topix.com/forum/religion/atheism/T...
In post # 220, you prove that you do not know what "distortion" evens means.the word http://www.topix.com/forum/religion/atheism/T...
"Reason Personified wrote:
<quoted text>Oh, please don't ever read the bible. You can stick with little snippets that your spell casters tell you to read, but actually knowing the buybull makes Christains revert to being atheist"

and my response;
"oh? i'm supposed to not read the Bible because you are going to tell me what it really says. i get it. a little distortion never hurt anyone until the distorter is called on it."

so lot me get this straight, "please don't ever read the Bible" really means that it is ok to read the Bible?
"you can stick to little snippets..." because that is all i'm told to read.
but "actually knowing the buybull makes Christains revert to being atheist". i took it that you area an athiest so you must have read it all and you are now the authority that will tell me what to believe.

you know, i haven't even seen you post anything about the Bible but weak generalizations that are taken from one incomplete passage.

then you make this claim;
"... on page 11, post 217, you accuse me of distortion again, but without any counter to the bible's scriptural trash, that I posted."
however this is what you posted;
"Do you think your god is a penis worshipper? Do you know that there is not a single buybull scripture where the appearance of a woman's genetalia was even mentioned. A woman's genetalia is considered filth that must be hidden away forever . Yet, a man's penis and scrotum had to be perfect looking or else he couldn't approach your god's altar. I think your god is a penis worshipper. I wonder who did the "penis prettiness" checks for him?"

the problem is that you can not find your accusation in scripture. you made it up. therefore there is no Biblical counter to the product of your imagination. you never posted anything let alone "trash" from the Bible i do think that you have an unhealthy fixation with the male sex organ.

there you go again. throwing out another snippet of an accusation that has no basis on reality. no reference to substantiate the accusation. just something that one of your heroes said in a book somewhere and you thought that it was brilliant.

Is it possible to re-name a Topix thread? Between the nutcase who thinks he is some sort of jewish mystic, biomystic and the new entry claiming magic 'spiritual' experiences beyond the ability of rational people to comprehend, it would seem that while the "Insane!" part of the title is still valid, the rest should say something like "theists off their meds".

Make up your mind, since you have evidence of neither, accuse me of one or the other, but not both. BTW a fixation would require much more than a few words, wouldn't it? Well, maybe not for a religitard?

I am not going to tell you what it says, and neither is your spell caster, and if you read it, you will become an atheist.

"wishcraft" is religion in general. The word 'belief' comes from the Middle English'lief', which means 'wish'. So, when theists say the 'believe' in some deity, what they are really saying is they 'wish' for such a deity.
