The Air Force Academy, which has a long history of discriminating in favor of evangelistic Christians, has come under sharp criticism and close scrutiny for that of late and is trying to correct the problem. It is not surprising, then, that some of their actions occasionally go too far in the other direction, especially given the intense and occasionally reactionary pressure from Mikey Weinstein, the founder of Military Religious Freedom Foundation.

Give them time. They're new at this.

I'm not sure what you mean by that, but I have always advocated secularism, i.e., government non-involvement in religion. That means freedom to worship or not as we please and to express our points of view as individuals. Making cadets remove statements of faith from the whiteboards on their dorm doors on the one had and allowing atheists to stage a promotional event on the other represents failure in that arena. Makes more sense to allow either both or neither.
