Atheism does not imply god.

Just as bald does not imply a hair colour.

Just as transparent, does not imply blue.

Just as bible does not imply divine.

Sure it does. How can you talk about what doesn't exist? Atheism is TOTALLY FAITH.

All hale Ra:-

"his mother,' from whom spring the delights of love. I have made the heavens, I have stretched out the two horizons like a curtain, and I have placed the soul of the gods within them. I am he who, if he openeth his eyes, doth make the light, and, if he closeth them, darkness cometh into being. At his command the Nile riseth, and the gods know not his name."

Or you can tell that story again how you as a child built a soup kitchen and fed the poor even better than Jesus.

Hebrews 10:31 (NKJV)
31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
You should learn more about your god, first of all I have none of the attributes which would interest him, I have no pretty penis or testicles, and he does make damned sure that only the really pretty ones are invited to his parties.

Also I have no hemorrhoids for you or your god to harvest, so you are just shit out of luck there, in coming up with a way to scare me. Next, I am not Jewish, I am not male, and I am not virgin, so that leaves only rape.

Let's see now, one of your god's punishments for a man is to have his wife thrown out in the streets and have her raped by the neighbor, and I can't be punished that way, for according to your religion, rape is not punishment for a woman. I guess somebody is just going to have to stone me to death, are you volunteering?

I was kind of like you, lost and without hope in a dying world.
Let's see how much you were like me, ok? I was Pentecostal, Deep East Texas Evangelical, dancing in he spirit, rolling in the aisles, and speaking in tongues Pentecostal. My life's work was to be, to take my gods word to the far reaches of the earth, my own life to be set aside to spread the good news. I would bring the world, salvation and hope with my god's words.

So to that end, I knew that to spread his word, I would have to know his words, and with the King James version of the Holy Bible, I began to read and study. Very quickly, I came upon parts which confused me, and after pondering and praying on it for some time, I knew that I was to read the bible exactly as it was written, for my god wanted me to know, exactly what he had intended by those words.

After reading the entire thing once, I had to read it again.

In it I found a bitter little hate filled, misogynistic and jealous god. His jealousy was for the goods and the property of other men. This god was shallow, a braggart, a fool, he was un-knowing, he was un-fair, and he was so small that he was defeated by the iron chariot. The buybull contradictions and outright lies, showed me that holy book was no holy book. It was at best a slave manual, a tool to be used against some men, and against all women.

Still it was years before I could let go of the indoctrination that had held me for so long. I kept looking for that one verse that would restore my shattered faith. The Abrahamic god-myth has spawned three very similar, and at the same time very different religions. All three would open a child's body to an erect male penis, all three would punish a woman for her husbands sins, and all three held a female in no more esteem than they did, the family cattle.

It also taught me, that he who was made by a perfect being, and was made in it's image, was not only not perfect, but was to be punished forever for the imperfections of others.

So that is enough for now, and since you think that are so much like me, you do now understand that a god who collects foreskins and hemorrhoids, and who is bested by the simple iron chariot, is not god enough for the likes of a woman like me. I never lost my love of my fellow man, I never lost hope, I never lost my sense of responsibility to the future of the human race.

My life has been full and happy, my work very satisfying, my family pure treasure, and my world alive and filled with promise. I am so human, that any death can bring tears to my eyes. Human suffering is an affront to dignity and a constant cause for me to rail against. I am still a missionary, but I will not infect humanity any further with the despicable god of Abraham.

So to re-hash this, you actually have no inkling of what it is like to be me, in this incredibly beautiful and fulfilling life which I have led, without any interference from a god. LOL!

The officials who conduct meetings in Carbon County have no qualms about saying a prayer before reciting the pledge of allegiance prior to each public session.

"We like to pray," Commissioner William O'Gurek said following a recent board of commissioners meeting at the courthouse annex in Jim Thorpe. "Every time there is a tragedy the whole world stops and prays."

"We believe it is important," Commissioner Tom Gerhard added. "I believe in prayer and we'll continue to do it."

"I believe it is important before every meeting and it will continue," board Chairman Wayne Nothstein said.

Borough council meetings in Weatherly and Tamaqua also often open with prayer.

The U.S. Supreme Court said recently that it will hear a new case regarding religion and government in a dispute over prayers used to open public meetings.

According to The Associated Press, the justices said they would review an appeals court ruling that the upstate New York town of Greece, a suburb of Rochester, violated the Constitution by opening nearly every meeting over an 11-year span with prayers that stressed Christianity.

The 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said the town should have made a greater effort to invite people from other faiths to open its monthly board meetings.

The town responded by saying the high court already has upheld prayers at the start of legislative meetings and that private citizens offered invocations of their own choosing. The town said in court papers that the opening prayers should be found to be constitutional "so long as the government does not act with improper motive in selecting prayer-givers."

Two town residents who are not Christian complained that they felt marginalized by the steady stream of Christian prayers and challenged the practice. They are represented by Americans United for Separation of Church and State.

Reacting to the Supreme Court's decision to hear a new case, the Rev. Barry W. Lynn, Americans United executive director, said, "A town council meeting isn't a church service and it shouldn't seem like one."
