They hide behind a computer screen and hate, the only thing protecting us from persecution by them is the law. Ever heard of quantum mechanics where there is possibility of multiverse/multirealities with different ones branching off ours?

You think there are no consequences if a man who rapes, kills, robs and does all sorts of extremely horrible things when they die? They don't even understand that death and suffering is allowed to happen because of sin and all they do is childishly mock and ridicule while hiding behind a computer screen not knowing it will only cause people to respond hostilely or people could take advantage of their mock and ridicule thing since they think all Christians are not intelligent therefore not being able to tell the difference.

Most crime is caused by ethnic parasites.
Countries with high numbers of Asians, Muslims and Africans have the highest crime rate. Basically multiculturalism = crime wave.

You have narcissistic personality disorder. Why don't you move to North Korea where it is illegal to publicly practice religion and are killed for it?

A dogmatic belief in any religion is simply an indication of a insecure unsound mind whether it be christianity or islam. Religions have been the basis of human conflict, slavery, misery, war since history has been recorded rather than the foundation of moral ethics, there is absolutely no correlation between a belief in god and the practice of moral ethics.
Stalin, Mao, Pol Pott, Kim Jong Un, Kim Jong Il, Kim Jong Un, Fidel Castro, Vladimir Lenin, North Korea, Soviet Union, Soviet league of militant atheists, Ho Chi Minh? They killed in the name of atheism and forced people to convert to atheism. And your wrong, if somebody rapes, murders, robs, kills his or her own parents and does all sorts of horrible things your idea says there are no consequences after death therefore there would be no reason for them to feel guilty for it because they think there are no consequences for their actions.

Atheism is a lack of belief in god.

Explain to us with your mighty higher intelligence where in that definition it says to commit mass murder?

Another day - another theist liar with no shame.

You invented militant atheists, just like you invented god.

The fact is there is no such thing as militant atheists, only people who respect facts and dont lie about god.

If sticking to the facts is a disorder, then I will happily stay this way.

At least I don't have to lie about atheists to make my point.

In your world, the only thing keeping you from committing horrific crimes is the mental illness that an invisible man is watching you and keeping score.

You only don't do those things because you believe in the myth of heaven.

If this is the case, please keep believing, because I dont want you committing those crimes thinking it is ok...just because god isnt watching.

I think those crimes are horrible and I'm an atheist - so you see, I dont need religion to be a better person than you.

Atheist may gather and wander to no avail in America.

Einstein rejected the label atheist.

Einstein stated: "I have repeatedly said that in my opinion the idea of a personal God is a childlike one. You may call me an agnostic, but I do not share the crusading spirit of the professional atheist whose fervor is mostly due to a painful act of liberation from the fetters of religious indoctrination received in youth. I prefer an attitude of humility corresponding to the weakness of our intellectual understanding of nature and of our own being."[1] According to Prince Hubertus, Einstein said, "In view of such harmony in the cosmos which I, with my limited human mind, am able to recognize, there are yet people who say there is no God. But what really makes me angry is that they quote me for the support of such views."

Einstein had previously explored the belief that man could not understand the nature of God. In an interview published in 1930 in G. S. Viereck's book Glimpses of the Great, Einstein, in response to a question about whether or not he believed in God, explained:

Your question [about God] is the most difficult in the world. It is not a question I can answer simply with yes or no. I am not an Atheist. I do not know if I can define myself as a Pantheist. The problem involved is too vast for our limited minds. May I not reply with a parable? The human mind, no matter how highly trained, cannot grasp the universe. We are in the position of a little child, entering a huge library whose walls are covered to the ceiling with books in many different tongues. The child knows that someone must have written those books. It does not know who or how. It does not understand the languages in which they are written. The child notes a definite plan in the arrangement of the books, a mysterious order, which it does not comprehend, but only dimly suspects. That, it seems to me, is the attitude of the human mind, even the greatest and most cultured, toward God. We see a universe marvelously arranged, obeying certain laws, but we understand the laws only dimly. Our limited minds cannot grasp the mysterious force that sways the constellations. I am fascinated by Spinoza's Pantheism. I admire even more his contributions to modern thought. Spinoza is the greatest of modern philosophers, because he is the first philosopher who deals with the soul and the body as one, not as two separate things.

I don't care wether you are a god believer.
I am only interested in the way society now operates without the god / church factor. Read previous comments from De botton.
Are sure you want to live in world as illustrated by Rand and to a lesser degree Hitchins??
In fact Rand has been dubbed a right wing atheist, her antics, policies bear evidence of this according to many writers....believers and non believers.
To believe this will not have a flow effect from the US is somewhat insular.
Ayn Rand was funny

My only concern is that superstition is kept out of politics, science, the law, morality and education

; and people don't discriminate against non-believers. People seem to believe all kinds of crazy things. The important thing is to have a secular society where all people are respected, not just 'believers'.
Since England has an established church you seem to have lost already?

Religion doesn't give people a conscience, it give them a pathetic excuse to avoid the responsibility of life.

There are certainly many things they don't do because of religion, they don't tell the truth and live in denial of reality. They claim a mythical war god and never existed jesus is the son of the never existed god.

Religion is the cause behind 95% of the worlds poverty, wars an environmental destruction,.

Religion has been at war with reality, their opposing god cult factions, the non religious, animal life on the planet and nature for thousands of years. The results of that deranged insanity is in the current state of the planets life, which is dying rapidly, under the onslaught of primitive minded overpopulated god nutters. Can't wait for nature to remove the lot of you as soon as possible and it will.
