Arkansas Society of Freethinkers Denies "War on Christmas" Charge

Dec 5, 2012 Full story: arkansasmatters.com 233

The Arkansas Society of Freethinkers today rejected the claim that it is making war on Christmas.

"Those who stand up for the rights of children to be free from coercion aren't making war either on religion or Christmas," said ASF spokesperson LeeWood Thomas. "Rather, this is a case of a church forming an alliance with local government to violate religious freedom. So we in the Arkansas Society of Freethinkers feel compelled to take a stand on behalf of the parents under the U.S. Constitution."

Hence the reason it's called "faith".
Which is fine!

If your faith helps you get through the day and doesn't hurt anybody, good for you!

You want to nail a chicken leg to you bedpost and dance around it naked, whatever.

But please just keep it in your home and in your places of worship. If everybody would just do that, we'd immediately get rid of a lot of problems!

Why do those who don't believe in God spend so much time talking about something they do not believe in? A mystery.

If the Terry Elementary School officials had not decided to use taxpayer money to violate the separation of state and church by promoting one religion over another, and not continued to attempt the indocrination of religious myths onto children, we would not be having this convesation. But once again theists just can't keep their woo-woo to themselves, and somhow think that their religion is priveledged and needs to be pushed onto everyone including non-beleivers.

One of the Hindu gods.

You mean you've pick a deity to bet you eternity on without even considering other theologies. Let me guess - you picked the one you parents and friends told you was the right one without a second thought. No wonder your congregation is referred to as sheep.

You've probably spent more time studying which car to buy.

Although you've been very mature and easy to converse with, thake a real honest look at how the poster called "guest" has behaved. Look at the hate he's spewed. This is the normal way non-theists are treated. After a while it really gets old.

I'm no different that anyone else. I spend my time trying to make the best life I can for me and my family. I'm ethical, involved with my community, a, I think, a pretty good guy all 'round.

Yet the minute I complain about Catholics or Christians assuming I'm okay with the encroaching on my life, I'm labeled as a hateful person.

It really just gets old.

When I was born "god" wasn't in our pledge nor on our money and everybody got along just fine.

Well that's not what happened. It was just a simple program that most every kids sees on TV anyway....no tax money was to be spent, the school was charging the kids $2.00 for the bus ride to see the program.

A planned field trip of school kids in Little Rock Arkansas in no way encroaches on your life. That's the whole point.

You find something that occurs 500 miles away from you in another state then act like it affects you. Like I said, you just want to whine like a little bitch about something you don't like. Too f*cking bad. Boo hoo hoo. Crybaby.
