You're going to have to work hard to improve your public image if you want to run for office. Survive, sure, the cold survives in your body .... until you kill it. But without science you'd be working fields all day, all day, as in you'd have no free time at all. You'd also die between 20 and 30 years after birth, about enough time to have two and a half children. You'd be extremely lucky to have all your teeth without science, most people didn't have any teeth after 30 if they lived that long. Science also makes sure that pricking your finger on a mineral deposit isn't a death sentence. It also provides you with healthy food all year long, so you don't starve in the winter. You also have the internet, thanks to science, lots and lots of science brought this to you.

Before the Tea Party Express brought tens of thousands to protest in the nation’s capital, and before town hall meetings about health care devolved into shout downs, there was the story of the boys of C Street.

What at first seemed like a series of public sex scandals turned out to have a connective thread. The main protagonists (Governor Mark Sanford of South Carolina, Senator John Ensign of Nevada, and former Arkansas Congressman Chip Pickering) were all one-time residents of C Street and members of the Family, otherwise known as the Fellowship. As the summer unfurled, the “three amigos” gave mainstream media outlets plenty to talk about, and this highly secretive and powerful right-wing group got a lot of exposure. And then, as is the wont of the media, the story of C Street disappeared from the headlines.

In this exclusive Religion Dispatches interview, Jeff Sharlet, author of 2008’s The Family: The Secret Fundamentalism at the Heart of American Power, talks about The Family and its summer of scandal, the organization’s tarnished present and future possibilities, and why the mainstream media had such a difficult time dealing with the group’s unusual political/religious beliefs.

You need to expand your repertoire of knowledge to include more than what you see on TV. Many people don't have teeth in our society because they can't afford the exorbitant cost of dentistry. 1 in 3 Americans wear dentures or partial plates due to gum disease and caries brought about by the sugar laden American diet.

As shocking as this may sound, people actually live and thrive in today's world without computers, plasma TV's, smartphones and microwave ovens. You are confusing need with want. There is a difference. People don't NEED a smartphone, they WANT them. Unfortunately technology, ever so willing to provide the world with an endless array of gadgets, has erased the line between what makes life possible and what makes life comfortable.

Natural food, shelter and clean water is what makes life possible. If more people spent time outside working in the sun, and eating healthy food from their own gardens, they wouldn't be running to doctors and gyms to counteract the unhealthy aspects of today's technologically "comfortable" lifestyle.

The Holocaust was caused by Christian fundamentalism:

Hitler worked CLOSELY with Pope Pius in converting Germanic society and supporting the church. The Church absorbed Nazi ideals and preached them as part of their sermons in turn Hitler placed Catholic teachings in public education. This photo depicts Hitler with Archbishop Cesare Orsenigo, the papal nuncio in Berlin. It was taken On April 20, 1939, when Orsenigo celebrated Hitler’s birthday. The celebrations were initiated by Pacelli (Pope Pius XII) and became a tradition.
