A message from God!
The young lady, at the age of 16, damned herself to hell by not following God's law and for killing herself. Her rapist, on the other hand, will still have his shot at heaven! He followed God's laws and married his rape victim!

Deuteronomy 22:28-29
If a man is caught in the act of raping a young woman who is not engaged, he must pay fifty pieces of silver to her father. Then he must marry the young woman because he violated her, and he will never be allowed to divorce her.
So, to recap: Rapist = Goes to heaven Rape Victim = Goes to Hell.
This should be one of those, "This is your brain on drugs" type warning, but I am sure that all christians will close their eyes and pretend that their god never said:
Deuteronomy 22:28-29 NLT)

I wonder if the Fox News folks were aware that the Islamic law they excoriate here is based on an Old Testament one that Jews have better sense than to obey or enforce and that few Christians are even aware of. So many OT laws are out of date, but unlike their counterparts in civil and criminal law, they can't be removed because it is a holy text, but it should be no surprise that some fundamentalists in Morocco still enforce it.

Question for theists: should holy texts be periodically revised to reflect changes in social norms? Are holy laws eternal or transitory?

Like most religitards, those on FUX are salad bar christians. They quote the parts of religion they like, and ignore the inconvenient parts.

Nearly every christard I confront is in denial of the old testament being accepted by all three cults - christianity, islam and judaism.

Funny how they can pull some of that old sh|t out when they want to hold someone else to it. Such as the, "For a man to lay with another man as with a woman, is a abomination to god." While they are eating shrimp and mixing the cloths.

Tis a horrid religion--

-- for I see all 3 of the YHWH-based cults as equally evil in their own way...

... they are each based off the horrid old sheep-effing book, the Holey BuyBull....

He tried to say that Deuteronomy 22:28-29 was consensual!!!

so god will punish a rape victim for killing herself because she was forced to be in the presence of the husband who raped herband even though he violated her he will go to heaven? What kinda sick sh!t is that? That is wrong and horrible.

That is what the bile says! He is forgiven because he was willing to follow god's law and marry her. She, on the other hand, was not willing to follow god's laws, so she must be punished!

That is very sick, but christians don't read their bibles and don't realize how warped their religion is.

Well because it states in several places that we are no longer under the Old law.
23 But before faith came, we were kept under guard by the law, 1 kept for the faith which would afterward be revealed. 24 Therefore g the law was our 2 tutor to bring us to Christ, h that we might be justified by faith. 25 But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor.

AndRomans 6:14
For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.
There are several other verses which state the laws of the Old testement are no longer valid.

The christian way to read the bible.

Matthew 5:17 "Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. 18 For assuredly, I say to you,{{{censored}}},{{{censored }}} all is fulfilled.

Now Paul said, "But before faith came, we were kept under guard by the law, 1 kept for the faith which would afterward be revealed. 24 Therefore g the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. 25 But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor."

Non-christian: "So, you take Paul's word over your own god's word?"

christian: "Who do you think told Paul to write that? End of conversation!"

Having defended Human rights against Fanatics I usualy don't debate scripture, But It is also written God is the same yesterday today and forever yet He granted a New deal in Which old testament Barbarities are out of fashion......Untill they can be resurected to justify current a Christian aspirations. A good example Would be as justification of Genocides against Native races as Christianity spread with White expancion across the globe. Personaly I believe the best way to argue scripture is to put something upside a fanatics head, through secular law when avaitable, and the use of equaly savage often covert retaliation (Counter terrorism )directed at thier institutions families and property to forstall attacks when threatened and no other course is avaitable, and being better armed since historicly Religionists have always preyed on those who are less organized and prepared to defend Themselves or Who fight a purely defencive war. Having found these methods successfull against fundimentalists evanjelicals White Citizen's Committe's and KKK groups. Who May be justified by faith but run scared when confronted by thier own dirty methods.
