As we see churches closing at an alarming rate and the rise of non believers skyrocketing we see religion has a fatal gut wound. Sadly those take time to do the job.

I have been stabbing at the gut of religion my entire life and it's demise is not fast enough for me.

I think it is a matter of exploding myths. Not just the 3-in-one-God or 'Mohammed was sent by Allah' tripe. It is also old misconceptions that are taken for granted, such as religious faith is something one 'loses'. It is actually superstition from which one is freed.

Then language needs to be recovered from religous thinking..
Religion = superstition
Theology = mythology
Blasphemy = satire
Sacred = imples 'to', not something inviolable.
Christian name = first name
etc.

Humanity will have progressed when we no longer need be concerned at all about atheism, agnosticism or secularism. Such words are only required because of the persistence of religion on a significant scale.(We don't need to consider 'apixie-ism':-)

Religion is senselessly divisive and more trouble than it's worth these days. It is the last bastion of superstition.

Well said. We have all been subjected to the superstitious language of society consciously and sub-consciously.

The superstitious create their own destinies in every word, thought or task. If their mythology tells them that they will overcome their enemies, they will prepare for that goal.

They all are told by their myths that they are victorious, so failure is not an option. That is why the neurological disorder continues. The apocalypse has not happened yet, but they are working on it.
