Dude! Those $39.95 on-line "colleges" are not "university"....

... go ahead and print out your "diploma"-- you "earned" it by paying the "entrance" fee already.

You may as well start your lifetime of "you want fries with that?" servitude...

... sad.

There is that. State schools will take anybody so long as they can pay...

I know you lie-- about pretty much everything.

That much I know.

And that? Tells me quite a bit about your... ahem... "life".

If you are this dishonest in public?

... uggg.

<quoted text>I think he's one of the more respected US presidents (outside of the USA) perhaps because he is seen as conciliatory and tries to build international consensus instead of acting as if the USA should have allies and enemies - although he still uses those terms.
Remember the "you're with us or against us" comment by Bush43? In an address to a joint session of Congress on September 20, 2001 he said, "Either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists".
Yes, Obama was schooled in the Ben Franklin style of politics: try to reach a mutual compromise, if at all possible.

It's how things get done.

Bushy was more of the Castro style of politics: do it Bush's way, or be considered the enemy.

It's now NOT to get things done.

... we are well rid of the Bush-type of politics...

... wait.... I almost forgot Bush-type Congress...

... now I'm sad.

Unfortunately, finishing middle school and understanding the ideas in middle school are different things. It is quite possible to finish middle school, in this baby-sitter style of school, and understand almost nothing.
True. You do make a salient point here-- I tend to be optimistic with regards to school. It's a personal failing, I need to watch out for.

For some reason, I have this idea that >>anyone<< can learn to think, if given the tools for thinking...

... meh.

Doctors without Borders an atheist organization? Are you sure about that? I thought one of their basic principles was neutrality. It would surprise me if they took sides on any question about religion. I suspect that a sizable number of the American doctors who serve the organization are Christian and that their beliefs are a strong factor in their commitment to service. Organizationally, there's a difference between not being religious and being atheist.
I think you are correct; but I have known doctors who volunteer with that group, and one of their primary rules, is >>no<< talk about religion one way or another.

They are pretty strict about that one, according to the people I've discussed it with (who've volunteered).

So wile many of the membership may well be religious, they honor the idea, by keeping it to themselves while on a mercy-mission.

Just ask Henry Kissinger. He engineered the secret bombing of Cambodia that killed tens of thousands, the coup in Chile that ended with massacres and torture for opponents of the generals and many other atrocities. He was up to his neck in planning and prolonging the Vietnam War (remember the stalling at the Paris Peace conference? People died while the good doctor bickered over the shape of the table around which the peace talks would be held.) There's still countries he can't go to for fear of being tried for crimes against humanity. His nomination stripped the Nobel Peace Prize of any semblance of credibility.
Indeed. It has become a tool of politics, and nothing more.

I am glad you reached your goal of walking past a university. Your family must be so proud. Next adventure will be walking inside of one and cruelly taking classes.

Funny how they put down theists yet theists run this country. To me theists are pretty darn intelligent.
