Absolutely.

When religion has social control it will always try to stifle education.

Quite correct. It is all about praise for him. Remember, he is a jealous god. Can you imagine?? The creator of the entire universe.... and he is jealous!! How pathetically man-like can one god get?
I know

Using christian logic, it would be perfectly acceptable for me to create millions of little robots and then instruct them to keep telling me how great I am.

.

You left a few things out
first you would have to toss all of your robots save 8 into the ocean or melt them down
after this the 8 remaining left behind would have to rebuild all the ones you just destroyed.

<quoted text>Here is the offer.... If you want me to answer your questions, than you have to answer mine. If you don't want to do it that way, fine, go away and don't post to me. They are my rules for posting to me. It's your choice.
Why does it have to be on my terms? Because you want to post to me, more than I want to poat to you. You offer nothing in this format that is of real value to me. Unlike other posters who are willing to discuss real ideas, you are simply a troll, begging for attention. If you want attention from me, than you must do it my way. Can you understand that?
Nope! I will not abide by your terms. You do not have real ideas or arguments being that I don't care if your atheist or not. I will not argue God because that's my choice. There is no value to you because I simply don't care. Now go post to others so you can give yourself a complex.

Technically it was excellent.
It was personal and engaging. It also attacked religionism at its weakest point - religious beliefs are irrational.
There's no single argument that will cause every religionist to give-up their superstitious 'beliefs' but this is another incremental attack on such superstition. Thank you for that because I believe all superstition (religious or not) to be harmful.
I am not sure that irrationality is the weakest point of religionism. Of course most religions are irrational. However, a case can be made that love, art, music, beauty are non-rational, and that is not a case against them - especially if they appeal to the best emotions and result in the best action.

I think the best case against most religion is that it makes excuses for cruel behavior, almost always for the cruel behavior of some alleged god, or prophet so called. Even for the not so nice behavior of the alleged Jesus figure, who has a few nicer aspects, if one just considers some of the words, and accept that someone (probably plural) said or wrote them, and got them put into the Bible. So often some of the nicer things are side by side with the evil things, so the whole scenario is usually compromised - the part about doing good to the least of these, which is a nice thought, is compromised by making it the occasion of threatening hell to those who don't and promising heaven to those who do.

Anyone who uses the term Trump in a comment is issuing a challenge to the rest of us to think of something funny to say about it. I would not necessarily blame creme de menthe, however. This is meant as a friendly comment - since I could not find the original Trump comment to make fun of. thanks for quoting it above. Naturally I think Donald Trump is a good case for the existence of evil in human beings, and not merely a drunk.

It wants to substitute indoctrination for education. That is one reason why the religious rightwing zealots in the GOP try to control the content of textbooks. But there are also other forms of ideology, besides religion, that try to do the same thing. The Ayn Rand ideology which is purportedly non-religious, is also against freedom of inquiry, since it posits selfishness as an almost ultimate principle.

God could either let him rule over him or put a stop to this. As we read in the Book God will indeed stop all the evil from him and his children,(Offspring)thru out the old testament the people followed the wicked one instead of Father. As we see God gave all of his creation a choice to make up their own mind (Spirit and Soul) to who they wish to followed, Satan or Father. if they chose to follow satan in the end they will be blotted out forever.
Well, that was a whole lot of crazy....

But it is just PEACHY-KEEN, if your ugly god ORDERS the slaughter of the innocent?

Like your BuyBull tells of, so very-very often?

And it's just FINE if your ugly god murders babies HIMSELF? As in the noah-flood horror story, where your ugly god MURDERS THEM ALL (babies)?

Wow.

Inconsistent, much?

Really? WHEN? If it IS NOT a choice that was made by THOSE WHO ARE SUFFERING?

That means: YOUR GOD IS NOT JUST.

I cannot wait for your answer to this conundrum.

IS YOUR GOD JUST?

So far? According to YOU?

No.

Education has got nothing to do with religion. In my country, South Africa, if you taught people about religion, it's okay, but for a teacher to say a child must not believe in God, because the teacher says he's not real and every day he says that to the child, he can be sued and thrown in jail!
We have already established you live in a Religious Sh7t-hole, in the other thread.

So your example is ... not very good.

100's of times, too.

Back when I, too was a Genuine Christian™.

But reading those ugly-ugly words?(the WHOLE bible, not just the scant few pretty bits)

I realized that the bible was too ugly to be of Divine Origin.

And I lost my faith in it, and it's little god too.

So I agree: READ THE BIBLE-- ALL OF IT.

And get convinced it's just an ugly book of myth.
