its the ONLY place atheists feel accepted. Its common knowledge the internet is your breeding ground. Oh did you watch the president tonight? He said, and I quote, "God bless the United States of America". I suppose you crazies were offended by this and call it hate speech? lol........you people are beyond nuts

On the contrary..I am more accepted offline than online lol...I was at work so I didn't see the president, but I don't care If he blesses the USA or not...as a president he is failing no matter what his religion.

Now you can wonder if he meant it. Religious prejudice against non-believers is so rife that (according to one poll) only 54% of USAmericans would vote for a non-believer. Then there are pressure groups like AIPAC to consider and attitudes like those of Bush41..
http://www.positiveatheism.org/writ/ghwbush.h...
and his son, neither of whom have distanced themselves from such bias. So one has to pay lip-service to religion to be elected in the USA.

And surely the President of the USA isn't so ignorant and backward that he seriously believes a god sent a prophet to Earth to 'show us the way'.

Religion = superstition
And truth will out.

The most important thing about the president is apparently that he says god bless America... Not surprising though... Usually that's all that ya'll look for in a political figure...too bad that trait doesn't seem to be helping AT ALL! Ugh

It's easy for a politician to say god bless America because it doesn't oblige them to deliver a sodding thing.

A visit from the clue elf: Atheists do not believe in satan any more than they believe in god. Both are imaginary beings for whose existence there is zero evidence. So, it isn't 'our' satan, because it exists only in 'your' imagination. We do not share your delusions.

The internet is a place where information is shared. Information is the antivenin for superstition, including religion. So you are right, the Internet does breed atheists. The more information available, the less sense your bronze-age magick makes.

I'm sure the president did say 'god bless America'. That's the sugar coating every politician puts on the swill he wants the rubes to swallow. Most Americans don't know jack about foreign policy, or any other sort of policy for that matter. Invoking god and telling them you plan to Blow Sh*t Up is the best way to sway them. Explosions are way easier to understand than diplomacy and negotiation, and, as leaders have known for centuries, war goes better with god. I'm just surprised he didn't lead us all in a chant of 'USA! USA!' as the finale.

I'm sure he does believe in god. And, apparently, he wants to send lots of Syrians ahead of himself to meet the big guy really soon, in order to prevent the Syrian president from killing them. Because being blown to bits by the US military is so much better than being poisoned by one's own government.

Never denied it. Don't really care. A US politician who says he believes in god is news on a par with the discovery that water is wet. They just act like they don't believe.

So?

He claims to be a christian-- not one of **your** sort, of course.

He's not a **genuine** christian, not like **you**.

He doesn't advocate the torture of nonbelievers, for example...

... in contrast to ... you.

But the **most** telling?

Obama has **compassion** for his fellow humans-- he actually gives a crap; he seems to **care**.

... again, in contrast to **you**.

I suspect that when President Obama says "god bless America", he actually **means** it.

And he actually wants **all** America to prosper.

In direct contrast to Genuine Christians™ who what it **all** for **themselves**--

-- AND NO ONE ELSE.

.... meh.

He very well may mean it. I don't like President Obama personally... I generally don't like most politicians. I have not been impressed at all by Obama though.

Non-believers are going to Hell regardless of how angry and retaliative you are against religion. You need to face that and get a grip on your losing stance.
You are a loser every day of your life.
You don't have the balls to face Obama and tell him what an idiot he is to say "God bless America". You are too much of a coward and you have no grounds to do it.
You lose!
Just in case you aren't aware of what you are doing ... there is only one person here calling Obama an idiot ... and that would be you.
