"I know Jesus" is something the fundies say because it scores them brownie points with the other fundies they come in contact with. It's no different than a pentecostal squirming around on the floor making stupid sounds that are interpreted be another idiot as something special. It's nothing but a show put on by the less inhibited (willing to make a spectacle of themselves in public) to impress the more demure among them.
I agree. I would have elaborated, but I'm growing tired of talking to this troll. It's a waste of time. I always end up saying the same thing. "your on an atheist forum, you need to go back to the christian forum". This one just wants to argue, and say the sme things that all of the other ones say when they come here. "All atheists say the same thing" (funny how that works both ways)... "All of you deep down believe in God"...(yeah, that's why we come to the atheist forum. We want to worship the "god" that we don't believe in.) "Why do atheists talk about "god" so much if they don't believe in him?" (Well because you keep bringing your religious a** over here and cluttering up our forum, so so we do the same thing that we have to do in the real world, and fight for our own place away from all of the insanity of religion!) lol.... Same ole same ole.... Nice to meet ya by the way.:)

i see let me remind you that you are the one that said you used to know Jesus and now you don't even remember knowing Him. Must be part of the indoctrination process.

Einstein had a quote to the effect that there are two things that are infinite: the universe and human stupidity. He went on to say he wasn't sure about the universe.

How is it ironic that I was a christian and now I'm not??? However yes, I grew up in church so I did follow in my church families footsteps and get "saved". At the time it was an innocent and emotional decision. Now that I am older and have done my own research and have actually had time to live in the real world...I have made the choice to not be a christian.

The only difference, between me then and me now, is that I don't go to church and I don't talk to myself lol.

so you never knew Jesus. Is that what you are saying? Because obviously you can't know somebody and then not know them.

Umm...it would make sense that since I'm not a christian now, that I guess I never was, yes.

well at least you finally admitted it. Now don't go around telling people you were a Christian when you weren't.

Well I can't do anything but say it that way. I was "saved" and believed at the time and I was a follower for 20 years up until 2 years ago.... I can't say I was faking it for 20 years because I genuinely believed, but it really makes no difference.

I think you need to take a cold, hard look at your life. Atheism is a dead end road to nowhere.

I guess I would have to say that's wrong. I actually was a christian, but now I'm not...

I can't say that I wasn't a christian. Sorry.

I have already....I decided a couple of years ago that I can't put my faith in something that is an obvious copy of other religions, and also in something that (after actually reading the bible) doesn't make sense.

you need to do more research and stop being influenced by people that are only looking at reasons not to believe in God. You honestly think atheists are actively and objectively looking at why there is a God? They are hardly open minded. Don't be lost for eternity simply because you let all this atheist talk get into your head. I know you won't take my word so why don't you read some books by very intelligent people that give reasons why they think there is a God. Not just a God but the one and only God.

I actually made the decision on my own. Here where I live there aren't many atheists around at all. I was surprised pleasantly when I found my boyfriend, who is someone that I could speak to openly without fear of being judged. I am lucky to have many friends who, even though they are christian, still love me, and let me be who I am. I don't doubt that there are very intelligent people who have written these books that you speak of. It just won't change my mind. This is the first post that I've seen from you that has been civil conversation, and I want you to know it's appreciated. I just don't feel like reading books will do much for the cause. No matter how I feel about it, it doesn't change the fact that it's just too much...there are too many things that don't make sense the way they should for a creator.

You should really look at your actions and the words that you use on here. You provoke too much. As a person who should want to be nice, you should not want to be on here making people angry. You do not make the religion look any more appealing by speaking the way you do. Not that I want more people to be converted ;) Seriously though I'm not a big reader anyway.

No... they said they **believed** in Jesus-- a very different statement from what you claim, above.

Just as small children **believe** in Santa Claus, and then later, recognize that it was just their parents all along.

So, too, a person can be deluded into thinking your "jesus" was real, once.

Of course, the parallels are quite accurate: neither Santa Claus nor your Jesus were ever real, as people believe.

There may have been a human behind the Santa legend, just as there may have been a man behind the Jesus legend.

But neither was at all like the modern legends claim.

Not even a little...

... no flying reindeer. No walking on water either.

Neither have you. Jesus isn't real, doofus.

Just a figment of your pathetic imagination.
