Why Do Atheists Ridicule Christianity?

May 5, 2011 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: Free Republic

'RELIGION SHOULD BE TREATED WITH RIDICULE, HATRED AND CONTEMPT' Atheism, or 'antitheism,' which was once considered taboo in America, has gone somewhat mainstream in today's society.

The "ultimate" abuse is murder. You remind me of the psychos who used "suspected" abuse as an excuse to murder those children in Waco. The elitist pigs just wanted to make an example of someone who they considered as "self-sufficient" and possibly aiming to create their own "state within a state" which they can't allow. The authorities could have arrested that turd Koresh when he was shopping in town but they chose to annihilate the community. Since when do the cops need flame throwing tanks to "take children into protective custody"?
No one "rightfully" owns another entity in a utopia. Every human entity should be allowed to enter the struggle that is life.
Too bad people have come to value life based on whether it is inconvenient to their own pleasure.
"The "ultimate" abuse is murder". I agree. When did we start talking about "murder"? Change the subject much?

I was out of the country for the entire 'Siege at Waco' episode, missed the media blitz, but can offer you my impressions.

I'm sure that there are many Law Enforcement people that wish they had "arrested that turd Koresh when he was shopping in town" ... but they didn't ... oops ... government employees making a mistake ... that NEVER happens. Bottom line - Koresh could have 'ended it peacefully' anytime, as any sane person would have, when confronted with the Force Majeure that formed itself at the walls of his 'compound'. Unfortunately, he wasn't "sane" ... he was spiked up on the Religion of Death, a Spokesman in fact, for the strangely silent objects of that religion ... the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. He chose Martyrdom for himself and an agonizing death for those who trusted in him. It must take considerable effort to villainize‎ anyone else but David for what transpired in Waco. But, that's one of the cool things about being a paranoid-schizophrenic I guess.

Is there anything I said that gives the impression that I do not value Human life? What do you think Secular Humanism is all about? The 'bots worship at the Altar of Death, for it is after death that their "real" life begins.

Is life without Freedom worth living? Many sentient beings have given their own life for that word. Is 'freedom' not the right to choose? To make one's own decisions? As a representative of our teeming BILLIONS you say 'ohhhhhh, life is so precious' but I say without freedom, the value of that life is naught. Of course, what does a 'bot know of freedom? Programmed from birth to tow the party line. A life spent waiting for a Heavenly Utopia while Earth awaits the Master's vengeful return.

A balance must be struck, a compromise made and agreed upon. Might have something to do with that Blind Lady, holding those scales. Saying 'life begins at conception' is not spoken in the spirit of compromise.

It is **worse** that that, Jim-- life began on Earth 4 billion years ago, give or take.

Conception? A living set of sperms unite with a living ova (although millions of sperms must **die** to permit just one to pass through-- WTF?)

At **no** point in the process does life **begin**.

These religious death-bots just don't get it.

I like your ideas-- yes, not-cashing in for at least 10 years is an excellent plan.
Just the cashing in, if the person owns a large chunk of stocks, can easily affect it's price-- which affects all sort of things beyond mere stocks. For one thing.
I would also say, that if a company failed, then any stocks owned by any of the top-level management? Is automatically forfeit, and any value of those is re-channeled **back** into the company they were supposed to be making profitable.
I'm not talking about stocks in the failed company-- but **any** stocks are automatically forfeit-- foreign and domestic.
That ought to put a bit of incentive in their minds to try to keep the company going strong: they would then have an actual personal stake in it's survival.
Musing on a thought here.

If I buy a stock and become a partial owner of a corporation, how is it I don't get to vote on whether the profits are given out as a dividend or to be used for growing the company?

If 20 percent of the stockholders in an annual vote say "show me the money!", shouldn't 20 percent of the profits be allocated to dividends?

Greed will surely rear its ugly head but that will also slow down a corporation (and may kill it) before it gets too big to fail.

The United States government killed more children in the raid upon Waco, Texas than were killed at the Sandy Hook school shooting.
There were many other ways to handle the Koresh situation than to slaughter every living being within the compound.

Conception is when a "new" life begins, one with its own unique DNA signature that defines it as an entity who has no equal genetically.

It is not that the other sperm "must" die to allow the one to merge with the ova, but that they can only live for a limited amount of time in the female's body. They do not bow out and die in synchronicity to let an alpha sperm get the girl, whacko.

Who feeds you that garbage, Bob, or do you determine all your misinformation all by yourself? Who is your messiah? That Anderson nut?

It DOES begin at conception; geneticists know this whether you do, or not, and your denial has no bearing on the reality of what the facts reveal.

The Clinton's Socialist sensibilities were offended by the thought of Koresh establishing a self-sufficient "state within a state" and had Janet Reno make an example of his group to discourage other people from doing the same thing. Elitist Socialists can't stand the thought that there might be citizens who don't need to be on the grid to survive. The local cops could have carried out the arrest of Koresh when he was away from the compound. No other complaint of suspicion of child abuse in America has ever required a flame throwing tank to arrest a suspected child abuser.
Anybody that believes the story of self immolation is a brainwashed fool. The flames didn't start until AFTER the tank's flame thrower broke through the outer wall. THAT was no coincidence. Those people were murdered.

Hi nano,
If you followed the media coverage back in those days, you might remember that it was the bible thumping religious right who hated Koresh only slightly more than than they hated Clinton. It was the right, not the left who considered Koresh a threat to the status quo.

Of course I would agree that the FBI over-reacted. They were under huge pressure to accomplish their mission. They were weeks into a standoff that they could not be seen to lose. And I do remember seeing the films--with the armored vehicle delivering a flash-bang granade at the end of a crane, NOT a flame thrower. It was stupid, dangerous, not thought out, but also not intentional murder.
