why?

well, it's like when there's cake on the table - you can't not cut a slice

there's just too much material in religion to leave it uncommented on.

although, a lot of it, is just too easy and is so ridiculous on the face of it, that it's so easy it's almost mean

Stop claiming falsely that this a "christian' nation. Our secular constitution is based on ancient British law. Stop forcing theocratic laws into legislation at the U.S. and state levels. Stop promoting hate for others, based on your books, we don't have to accept your books. And we choose not to hate. Do these things and you may deserve our respect.

If that comment passes as "intelligent" to you... that must make you (I'm probably aiming too high here) a doorstop? pocket lint? fingernail clippings?

After reading the article, I come away with the Hitchens' idea that religion “should be treated with ridicule, hatred, and contempt”, but christians themselves should not be threated that way. That's is the same vein of "supporting the troops but not war", or the xtian concept of "hate the sin, not the sinner".

Anyway it's hard to avoid the saying, "Payback Is A Bitch".
