Yet more nonsense.

Nobody was motivated by atheism to do anything. Atheism is simply lack of superstitious beliefs...

<quoted text>I think it more true to say that the societies influenced Christianity. Different cultures and societies have developed and embued religions with the mores of society.
And I am not hateful, just objective. It is religion that is divisive and corrosive, like any other superstitions.
If as you claim society influenced religion ...I would expect Christianity to be nationalistic ...this is not the case in Vatican City (right now)...and, in formation of the Euro Zone ...

Actually not, it is the largely non religious countries which have the best health care, fairest governments, cleanest environment and best educations. The USA is at the bottom of those lists.

There are countries now where Christainty has again raised it's ugly head, and children are being burned for it. They are accused of witchcraft and are being tortured maimed and killed in an effort to please your god, by following his words. These people are not well educated, not afflent, in fact they are mostly those who live well below the poverty level with no hope of acheiving much more than they already have. They have been scared of your god since the missionaries lugged him in with them.

These ignorant people, obey your bible god in ways that you would never do, because you reject him as he is presented by the holy book. The god you serve is a number four construct, which has little in common with the buybull god for whom witches still burn to death.

Our "health care" sucks ....because we have to fight a lot of wars..

these are expensive ; but, many nations including ourselves now have no need to fear the tyranny ,the plagues our little blue planet ...

yeah, a couple of women have recently been murdered ...This was a Christian majority nation....???...I don't know exactly where these murders occurred , but, I assumed the perpetrators were animists ...you know , like native American religions ...Is this not the case ...???

I'm confident my understanding of anything and everything is better than yours. I've read your posts!:-)

You are arguing that atheists in power would be worse than religionists. Frankly I consider that too patently biased to be worth much response. I would simply reply by emphasising that one shouldn't be prejudiced against people regardless of their supersitious (i.e. religious) faith or lack of any.

Atheists aren't better than religionists but to imply that the reverse is true is plainly ridiculous. history is replete with examples of religionists being every bit as bad as any atheist. In any case, there is no reason to believe that anyone in our day and age is any better for being religious.

Religion is supersititious nonsense. It is divisive of humanity (e.g Zionism and Islamism). It is anti-science (ID/Creationism). It tends to undermine one law for all (religious courts). Religionists demonstrate prejudice against atheists (from boy scouts to US Presidents)
http://www.positiveatheism.org/writ/ghwbush.h...
http://www.gallup.com/poll/155285/atheists-mu...

The problem seems to be that some people confuse religion with morality.(They imbue religion with all sorts of positive attributes). The simple truth is that atheists aren't less moral than religionists and I tend to regard it as bigotry to think otherwise. It seems a particular problem in the USA. I don't think many people in the UK care less if people in power are religous or not as long as they are secular and don't discriminate regarding religion or lack of it. That is why people want Bishops out of the House of Lords, disestablishment of the English Church from the State and rid of other such outdated legacies.

A)Saints and Sinners ,we're are all the same ..
B)How can you claim , you don't discriminate ...you want the religious pulled from power .....curious .?
C)People there don't use U.K , they prefer England ..
D)according to Jesus "you are either for or against me."...there is a line in the sand ; responsibility is thrust upon "us" whether we want it or not ..We must oppose the "spiritual" or defend it ...

F)you brought up boy scouts ; Christians oppose homosexual sex .....and, pornography ,drug abuse and cruelty ...where are your words ..."pornophobe"... "crackphobe"... "beatphobe"..??

None of those places used "athiesm" as their main reason to do what they did.

NONE.

So as usual, you lie to try to be convincing.

But as usual, your lies are easy to see through.

In a classic moronic Genuine Christian™ mistake.

I'll agree the Old Testament is pretty bloody ,(you have to give early church leaders credit for keeping those books as is ...)
Yes, the sacred author writes "God hardened Pharaoh's heart" .......he, also writes .."the mountains and hills will sing out in joy ".........can I assume ,you take that literally ,too...???
Why not take it literally?

There is NOTHING in the bible that teaches otherwise.

To NOT take it literally means NOTHING in it is trustworthy.

Nothing.

Including 100% of your jesus-mythology....

... so if you DO NOT take it literally?

You god 100% of nothing to base your faith on.

LOL!

Not even CLOSE, silly boyo.

Take Switzerland and Sweden for example.

Lower crime, higher education, better average pay, far superior general medical care, better health of the population, less unemployment, less homeless.

All those stats are superior to the USA, and there's many more.

And those countries? Strongly atheist/agnostic in the general population.

Even Great Briton shows a strong trend towards atheism/unbelief in it's general population, and has superior education, health care, etc, etc, etc.

Or take Australia-- far more atheist than believer, and the general population has superior health-care, better educated, etc, etc, etc.

And a lovely twist: very strong gun-control, and much lower incidence of both domestic crime AND domestic suicide (not to mention far lower accidental shooting-deaths). As compared to the USA, of course.

So, not even CLOSE, you silly person.

Not even a TINY bit close.

And your point is 100% false, for want of evidence.

Just for starters.

One of the primary lessons of REAL history?

Is this: give people both secular (government) power AND religious power?

Those people QUICKLY become CORRUPT.

Just look at the latest corruption coming from Vatican city-- the pope-ums had to actually STEP DOWN due to corruption under his watch! Seriously--

-- religion AND politics create CORRUPTION.

Always.

Without a single historical exception.

Again, looking to actual REAL history:

During the time when your evil little cult, Genuine Christianity™ was IN CHARGE of nearly all Europe?

We call that time, "The Dark Ages" due to the horrid living conditions and the rampant corruption of ALL governments of that day.

All under the lovely blanket of Genuine Christianity™ of course.

We had such lovely Genuine Christian™ institutions from that time, too: a program of exterminating the Jews, at the command of the various Popes. The Spanish Inquisition, of course. Several so-called "crusades" where mass-murder and mass-rape was the order of the day.

The list of atrocities committed in the name of Genuine Christianity™ is so long, I haven't the space here-- only 4000 characters allowed.

So not even a little bit are you truthful.

Daily Horoscope for May 21

Aquarius

There simply aren't enough hours in the day today for you to do everything that's on your list, so concentrate on the priorities. Don't feel guilty about what's been left out and start to worry about it. This isn't an easy day because you're feeling pressured and anxious, so don't expect too much from yourself. There's less energy than usual, which doesn't help.
