Look who's talking, the biggest hypocrites on Topix. You've committed your entire waking lives to reviling a religion you hate. No one is going to respect someone who refuses to respect others.

Being in a zone considered as "habitable" merely because of distance from its sun does not make it habitable for humans. There must be seasons and temperatures that would allow for food plants to grow.

Older only means they have had much longer exposure to high energy, gamma ray bursts than the Earth has, ergo, even less likelihood of life existing there.

The universe is NOT "too amazing that we cannot truly conceive it", THAT is your limited, nihilistic ideology rearing its stupid, ugly head. The "real" scientists haven't even determined exactly what is "out there" regarding causation, dark matter and the likelihood of ET life, yet you claim to know the "truth". You know nothing.

<quoted text> Now you know how far you're going to get with this question. Why do you even ask? Is it so you can point a finger and chide? Remember what Jesus had to say about those with no sin throwing the first stone. When you become absolutely perfect, come talk to me about how your God exists, much less is the right one. I don't believe in a 'man in the sky' God. That's all you'll get, as it's what I've said a million times on Topix.
Nearly 82,000 comments all saying the same thing, over and over again. Snide is all you've got. BORING!

Most of the internet is porn, your point? If you are going with the majority of the planet that is 90% religious, understand that most of the planet is illiterate and dying of starvation.

I prefer to ask healthier minds about reality than trust desperate religious liars.

Reality is subjective. How can we prove that anything that we experience outside of ourselves is real?
How much of the light spectrum can we see? Phantom limbs and so on. Our bodies have a very limited way of observing "reality".

Pretty obvious you have a comprehension problem reading posts. I never mentioned habitable for humans. Your posts are a waste of space.

Yes... she is fat and happy in her self-imposed ignorance and self-righteous ivory tower.

This way, she can waddle in her padded throne from her self-imposed exile from reality itself, and pretend she is looking down on everyone else.

Sad really-- her "tower" is none other than a pig sty, and her throne is the religious shyt she wallows in daily.

And she misses out on the **wonder** that is the universe itself-- yes, many planets have been discovered so far, that are way beyond our own humble star system.

Just within our own galaxy, it appears that there are billions of planets in the "Goldilocks zone"....[according to a recent paper on the subject] the odds that they have life on at least a few of them? Are quite high.

In fact? If the odds were a million to one against life on a planet in the "Goldilocks zone"? With that many? We'd have a at least a hundred million **with** life....

... amazing, isn't it?

Oh, I believe it-- I've experienced it directly.

It is, to me, certain proof that there is no such thing as "jesus"-- at all.

Why?

Well-- for starters, any god who cared about it's reputation? Would **quash** such negative representation and sooner than later.

The fact that people can act so horribly, and then claim to be Genuine Christians™, is more than ample proof there is no actual god behind any of christianity.

Free will is not an excuse either-- the bible contains many examples where it's god was happy to quash the insolent -- he'll use wild bears if need be.

I'd say that the odds are very close to 1, that there is some form of life elsewhere.

There's just too many planets in the ideal zone for life as we know it, for it **not** to have happened already.

Of course-- their DNA may contain different "letters" or may rotate in the opposite direction from ours-- those details are not a mandatory requirement for DNA-type life.

In fact? Here on earth, there are some "wild" species of single-cell critter that use different DNA than is common on earth-- these are extremophiles, usually. But likely they are the direct descendents of the original "fight for supremacy" of the one celled life that started here so long ago-- with the majority "vote" going to our form of DNA.

How very Jesus of you: try to belittle people you hate.

That is **so** going to convince them your religion is one of love.

Right?

Not all food crops require seasons, doofus. Ever hear of green houses? These contraptions permit year-round growth of many species of food crops, that otherwise could not grow in winter--but are quite happy to grow continuously, year round in a green house.

Your near-total ignorance of actual biology has exposed you for what you are: a hate-filled god-robot.

Sad.
