I was a Genuine Christian for more than 40 years.<quoted text>
A-ha! You have exposed the hole in your armor!
Obviously, you have attended a church and listened to the sermons of the preacher/pastor/imam/guru/rabb i/medicine man/sky pilot/etc.
Everyone knows you go to church in your Sunday best, like a peacock strutting its feathers, to impress.
You should be too busy calculating other's big feathers than to listen to the sermon...
And yeah, I put my time in sitting still and vainly trying to figure out what the idiot up there was trying to say.
The vast majority of the sermons I had to sit through, were utterly pointless.
Of the few that were not? Most of those were because of a human interest story-- how some person helped another person in some way, without expectation of immediate reward.
The subset of sermons I have heard, which had some useful meaning or value?
Could just as easily been told by a **nonbeliever**....
... for if you stripped out the god-bits? The story still worked....
