Yip, keep reading your page that is obviously written by a atheist desperate for religion to decline.

There are also many pages all over the internet saying religion is increasing or Christianity is increasing, or atheism is dying out.

The fact is, neither atheism or religion will die out. Why? Because everyday there are more children born into religion than converting to atheism or more children born into atheism than atheists converting to religion.

There's also more reasons if you like.

If atheism is on the rise, then common sense must be also. About time.

According to the poll, 29% of USAmericans 'believed in' Astrology. 26% in witches. That is superstitious enough. It is gradually dawning on ever more USAmericans that belief in gods is no more justified than belief in witches or sooth-sayers. Hopefully, clerics will be regarded much like witchfinders and Astrologers soon.

The Vatican's chief exorcist has thanked Pope Benedict XVI for opening the way to exorcisms, not only for those possessed by the devil but also those tormented by him.

Apparently you have not heard of "The Rise Of The Nones", which are the youngest generations rejecting your cults in droves. You represent the last gasps of the rapid decline of religion. Sucks doesn't it?

Some highlights of the latest Harris Poll:

Miracles: 72% of Americans believe, down from 79% in 2005.

Heaven: 68%, down from 75.

The virgin birth: 57%, down from 60.

Jesus is God, or the son of God: 68%, down from 72.

The resurrection story: 65%, down from 70.

The soul lives on after death: 64%, down from 69.

The devil, and hell: 58%, down from 62.

This is one of the biggest decreases: God keeps an eye on us but does not control what we do: 37%, down from 50.

Americans that believe that all or most of the Old Testament is the word of God: 49%, down from 55.

Americans that believe that all or most of the New Testament is the word of God: 48%, down from 54.

We have a tie: Number of people that believe in UFO's equals those that believe in Creationism at 36%

And we have an increase: Number of people who believe in Darwin's theory of evolution: 47% UP from 42%

As older republican's die off, or the older generation in general, this number of non-religious will just keep going up and up. Better times ahead.

Not to mention, the less religiouis a society gets, more and more religious people who have never questioned their beliefs, will start to do so. I honestly believe that in 50 - 75 years these numbers will be opposite, with 74% non-believers.

Reason and logic always wins out in the end.

But with access to knowledge, like it's never been before, religion can't shelter their children to true knowledge as they have in the past. Those born into religious families today, have a much better chance of discovering reality over myth, then the baby boomers, or my generation (Gen x-ers) ever had.

Indoctronation has become harder than ever!

Atheism is a disbelief in tired old religious lies. Some liars find that threatening.

The world will eventually tire of religion and hold its fraudsters and charlatans to account.

And you are religious, and hate facts. Fact: Religion is digressing in North America, and atheism, and agnosticism is on the rise. And it's happening faster than ever before. Oh oh, you better lobby congress to censor the internet, and amend the constitution to keep science out of school. Oh wait, you already do that.

We all say the Rhino population is increasing and that it will be saved, but we all say that because that's what we want to hear.
Atheism is on the rise is exactly what atheists want to happen, so they be optimistic about it.

All of the Polls, Surveys, Questionnaires, etc., for the past 30 plus years indicate the same results: Non-belief is increasing while Belief is declining, both at a rapid pace. Why wouldn't Atheists be optimistic this Long Term Trend would continue?

Theists should be asking themselves, "Why did it happen?"

You're right, I am optomistic. Not becasue I'm atheist, or dislike religion, but because of the studies, polls, etc.You can ignore the trends all you want. Just like the right wing loons igonred the polls in 2012, and thought Romney would run away with it. We all know what happened in 2012, don't we.

Keep being optimistic. All those surveys, Questionnaires, Polls are obviously done by atheists.

Like I said, keep being optimistic
