Whereas that idea is amusing?(that Romans fabricated it for control)

Alas, this turns out to be a nutjob, and has been debunked by rational thinkers.

In short? If you read some of the criticisms on the Atheist Experience FB page, you'll see some of the problems with the story.

Sorry, you have to log-in to FB to read that.

Aw, shoot. At least it was more believable than the idiotic holy books. The Romans didn't claim a man had lived in the digestive juices of a fish for three days

:)

Yeah, I really wanted it to be accurate as well.

But it's just a kind of "anti-scam". <heh>

I still maintain that there never was a historical Jewsus though.

The most compelling argument for that, is this guy:

He's a scholarly historian, and his talk is worth a listen. Bear with him, he's slow to make a point, but he does cover all the bases.

One more thing: the sound is messed up on that video.

I find it best if you just listen, and not watch... but you may not be bothered by the miss-sync.

Actually my dial-up, won't let me do either. We were promised fiber optic phone lines, almost two years ago. I don't think they are coming. According to the phone repairmen, there are still some "overhead, stung between telephone poles" lines from the 1940's, servicing this area. It does explain the incessant crackle which is the third presence in every phone call.

I still have to drive several miles just to get sporatic satellite reception on my cell phone, so that's out too.

I'm sorry about that.

A nearby friend was in your boat for years-- he found a little program which allowed him to download the whole youtube thingy into a file-- took hours, sometimes-- and then he'd watch it later. He'd start the download just before leaving house for a while, or before going to bed.

I have tried that too, but the loss of dial tone, and the constant crackle, still defeat my best efforts.
Having a house and land in the forest is nothing less than wonderful, so it does balance out.
