Atheist group to rip Bible pages in H.B....

Sep 15, 2011 Full story: The Orange County Register 1,872

Members of a grassroots atheist group say they will tear out pages of the Bible at the Huntington Beach pier Saturday to point out what they say is immorality in the book many Christians base their faith on.

I think "justsayin" is a hypocritical cu*t.

Aptly stated as they are indeed programmed.

Well, I could easily write a computer-program that would automatically take key-words in a sentence (grammar engines are ubiquitous these days, this one is already solved) and then do a search for quotes that apply.
You can even limit the search results how you like, say confining it to specific worldviews.
All this is as mindless as it is possible to be--literally, as computers have no senses of any kind.
And you would have created an exact copy of a "Christian Apologist".
They really are as mindless as an unthinking computer program.
Sad, really.

Since "no god" is the default state of being? It's safe to presume that is true, until sufficient facts are presented to show otherwise.
They say we cannot prove that God does not exist, so therefore his existence is a reasonable possibility that he does. By that measure, we would have to say that their is a possibility that Peter Pan exists, Harry Potter, Superman, Darth Vader, Hob Goblins, Spaghetti Monsters, Talking Trees of Narnia, Centaurs, Fauns, Mermaids, etc

Indeed.

What they fail to realize is this: once you put definitions on what you mean by "god"?

It then becomes possible to test these definitions for validity.

Nobody but nobody worships an undefined deity. Nobody-- as such, we do not care about these.

By the above logic, it then becomes possible to prove the god they worship-- that, specific god-- is entirely myth.

This is fairly easy to do.

Of course: to a godbot, nothing--not even reality itself--is permitted to intrude on their little world of fantasy-delusions.

Many a godbot has stated, without limits, that they would not loose faith even if >unquestionable< proof showed the bible was a 100% fabrication. Say, a time-machine going back to the bibles' first appearance.

This is why they remain resolute in their delusions (faith). They simply ignore any and all reality that proves their faith is bogus.

... meh.

Programmed? You betcha-- and hard-coded, burned into immovable rock is that programming too.

----------

This is in direct contrast with every atheist I've ever spoken with: an atheist is still willing (if somewhat reluctantly) to listen to actual... facts.

More to the point, an atheist >must< follow where the facts point.

As such, evidence proving without a doubt-- that is, real, unquestionable facts-- that would prove a particular god real?

The atheist would have to admit that god was real.

__________

And therein lies the difference:

Atheism: an evidence-based worldview. Following reality where ever it leads

Theism: a lie-based worldview. Denying reality since the beginning of theism.

..... yet, may remain an atheist. To know that it existed would not equate to adopting it's dogma. Without theism, we are atheist.

Actually I would differ here. I think they all actually worship (grovel) to an undefined deity. When you try to pin a theist down on the set of properties for their particular deity, they become all flustered and defensive.

In fact I would submit that there is no cogent set of properties one can define for an entity such that it would be reasonable to consider such an entity to be a deity.(ref: theological noncognitivism or ignosticism)

Well that might be expected with thousands of gods and hundreds of thousands of religions. Invisible sky wizard is about the best we will get for the vast majority of them.

Ask for more they will say, you find out when you die. Cop out? You bet, but it is what it is.

Point. Admission of existence is not the same as blind, sheep-like following.

The majority of goddites are slaves to their dogma after all.

But. There is one definitive trait they all agree: their god cares about little old they, to the point of actual interference with reality for the benefit of the god-slave in question.

And that >can< be put to the test.

So far? The test always proves the god in question is myth.

Maybe you should shut your face, until you've looked around these threads a bit. You most likely will find, exactly that which you claim doesn't exist.

BTW, when your bible god tells you to cook and eat your children, what will be your answer?

Me? I think that Islam is as fake as Xianity.

Moohumud was not any more a real person than Jewsus.

But what's worse?

Is Moohumud is a child-raper: he force-married a 6 year old girl-child, then politely waited until she was 9 before raping her. I guess he wanted to make sure she got pregnant? Who knows.

And how on earth, could an illiterate child-raper write the Quoran anyway?

Yes-- Moohumud was illiterate.

Now.

Since it's pretty clear he's all made-up?

Why on EARTH did they make him an illiterate child-raper?

Hmmm?
