Many times people become atheists because they encountered something in life that hurt them and blame God. For instance Skeptic lives in the basement at mommy's home and prayed to win the lottery and he didn't. So he blames God for that. Of course the loss of loved ones also brings them to change. The will argue burden of proof, straw man, etc... And go out if their way to destroy ones faith.
