You say that, as if there were some kind of honest theist or informed theist or even logical theist.

I suppose one of these may exist, somewhere.

But I've yet to run into one...

If there is one who exists, I'm sure they are riding a flying unicorn.

Because you don't know anything doesn't mean others don't.

Well, it IS on Glenn Beck's website. Not exactly the first place I'd look for logic or sanity. Beck is nuts, and is a magnet for other crazies. When you are too weird for Faux News, you know you have only a tenuous connection to reality.

Well. If you are saying that you personally know God, put in a good word for me. If not, shut the hell up.

Apparently, the concept of 'public forum' has eluded you. Forums exist for people to share opinions, usually on topics that people have differing opinions about. If we only discussed topics on which there was no disagreement, the forum would merely be an echo chamber. No one would learn anything, no one would have any reason to open their minds and think, no one would be challenged to re-think their position. It would also be deathly dull.

Obviously, you are not interested in learning of other people's thoughts, only in trying to stifle discussion. Typical behavior for theists, who are uncomfortable with the idea that someone, somewhere questions the validity of their myth. Thinking is a subversive activity to theists, and the threat has to be eliminated before anyone else starts to think. Thinking may be contagious.

So, thanks for playing, but I think you will be much happier if, instead of reading Topix, you go back to church, where everyone agrees with you and no one thinks.

I could be way off here, but if I might be so bold to step in, I think there's a bit of confusion. I originally mistook Eightman's comment to mean he was religious. I think so did redneck and his comment was in reference to the mountain of evidence that evolution is a fact, and how some of our brightest minds have made the claim that god is not necessary. Those of us who don't have a full grasp on theoretical physics indeed, can't really say we know for sure, but that doesn't mean there aren't others who can say with reasonable certainty that god, does not exist. I think

Eighthman then mistook redneck's response to him to mean he was claiming to know that god does exist.

So in that I think you thought you were coming from opposing views when really you're both on the same page. Although I don't know redneck, I'm not always on topix so, again, I may be off the mark here, I'm just going off of what I read.

Amused does have a point though. Whether or not redneck was coming from a religious standpoint or an atheistic one, this is a debate. I'm an atheist and agree with pretty everyone who has posted on this thread. That being said, so far it's pretty boring. It's no fun when everyone agrees with each other and there's no challenge.

Fun to see YouTube drama focused on in mainstream media. The funny part is that YouTube is lightdays ahead of mainstream media even in news, so I guess they could choose worse sources.
