Asking this question is like asking if people wearing pink shirt. People who like wearing pink shirts can come from all parts of life; they can be delinquents or good folks, men or women, gay or straight, humanists or non humanists, religious or non religious. All they are united by is their love of pink shirts. Atheism should be viewed the same way. It is not really a group, but simply a term to describe people who lack belief of a deity. One cannot say that just because one famous and well respected atheist feels one way, that we all feel the same.
As far as morals goes, atheists differ in opinion. Some feel that morality is an evolutionary illusion, others like myself believe that common sense morality, sympathy and empathy are instinctive.

The article is pure nonsense from Robboblogger. Relgion has nothing to do with morality.

We now know that a person's behaviour is determined by nature and nurture, DNA and environmental factors. We only know what it right and wrong from our ability to reason and relationship to our environment. Some people do wrong because they know its wrong but don't care. They lack empathy, like Bundy. Others do wrong because they don't accept that it is wrong, like a suicide bomber who believes they are fighting for their religion and will be rewarded in an afterlife.

Religion doesn't enter into the question except that tribal religionism like Zionism, Islamism or some crazy 'Judeo-Christian culture'(as some right-wing USAmericans view it) divides humanity and makes each group fear the other. That gets these groups fighting over which one 'owns the holy land(s)' and other crazy nonsense.

Religion is divisive. It's superstition and dogma - not a help in detemining what's moral.

seems you have forgotten the Moral 10 Commandment Law, which If mankind followed would ultimately lead them into a state of nirvana,

No more Murder, No More Adultery, No more Child Molestation, No More Stealing things which didn't belong to you, a Promised Day off once a Week to clear your mind from the Burdens of Work and Entertainment, Politeness to Parents and Older Persons, Not wanting things which didn't belong to You, No More people Lying just for the sake of Lying

Earth Would be A Paradise already if Everyone kept those Simple Laws

You mean the one where 5 commands are merely to "worship?"

Should we kill people for working on the Sabbath just like God did?
